And since the lifespan increases with capacity (write endurance, typical to what I have seen) this thing should last ages being used mainly like an archive of write-once data!

I can see a Formula 1 car carrying one of those. And a live big game sports camera.

Well, if we take Moore’s law (computational capacity doubles every 2 years) and say we use ~1 TB today, after 7 cycles (14 years) we’ll be at:
2^7 = 128TB

So that will be normal by roughly 2034! :grin:

I’m going to start making my World Ortho ZL19 tiles starting today…in about 4 years when my computer is done maybe I’ll have reached that… :rofl:

Is it at least NVME? Sata III would feel like IDE with that volume.
