I know this is a flight sim forum but I was wondering if anyone here plays Steel Beasts? I have had the game for quite a while and I would love to give MP a try on a small scale. Is there any interest here?
No no no we are a “sim” forum. It all goes.
I don’t have Steel Beasts myself, but would love to see some AARs, or even an intro to Steel Beasts vid, showing the cockpits (is that what they’re called in tanks?), what battle looks like inside one, etc.
hint hint hint
Need to take a loan to buy this game XD
how much is it today 120 bux ?
Played it for a while…but I like Steel Armor better. that time frame suits me better.
@Tyco Oh man…I have a TON of interest…I just can’t seem to mine the time!! Argh! (You’ve hit a trigger issue with me…Steel Beasts!) I’ve had the sim for years…and dabbled in it with some training, but was never able to carve out enough time to learn the sim properly (or at all really). It strikes me as a game that would seriously appeal to me because I love thinking strategy, and I love reading maps, so it is a no brainer.
I sure wish we could get @Magnum50 to lead a ground warfare section of Mudspike - he’s got some great experience and depth of knowledge in that area.
December is a tough month for me (lots and lots and lots of training going on at work), but January should smooth out, so let me get SB installed and maybe we can hammer out a MP session in January. I think it would be pretty entertaining to see a bunch of us airplane tanks bumbling about the FEBA in tanks!
So count me in as very interested.
Sounds good @BeachAV8R. I look forward to it! And @EinsteinEP perhaps on one of my days off next week I might find some time to take some screenshots
I would love to play around with this one, I havent bought it yet, but would love to see some AARs here and such to try and convince me to do so
That’s a very steep price for game O_O
Well worth it in my opinion.
dont get me wrong … not saying its not … i just need to get the funds to buy this game XD lol
@esonub Think of it as two DCS modules
Yeah, I play it quite a bit Tyco. In fact I root around a lot in the mission editor and then go have battles. I’d hook up with you if the time is right. Plenty of stuff out there to play, small engagements, medium etc. Perhaps we could get a SBPE group based here going?
One of my videos of SBPE.
I play steelbeasts since 8 years, it`s more than a game for me.
If someone wants to play MP I´m in, if the time slot works for me.
Some videos you can find here, some are in english:
Nice @Duke, and welcome to Mudspike!
This one is especially good gameplay…
I made some Steelbeasts AARs too.
Here are 2 AARs from a big MP event last year:
Operation Rising Bear Mission 3
Operation Rising Bear Mission 4
I´m happy to make more AARs in future here. I have some stuff on my harddrive, but as always it takes time to create one.
On the 26th of december, 9th and 23rd of january I will host a COLD WAR BATTLE. If someone is interested no problem, everybody can join. If someone wants to test steelbeasts and has no licence, no problem, download the latest version and you can play with my second license.
That would be great - always like to see AARs, and was one of our main reasons for setting this forum up.
Duke is a king in the Steel Beasts community. His AARs are excellent examples of gameplay and a superb view of the simulation itself. We should be so lucky if he chose to plant his AARs here.
Everybody is welcome. This mission is an attack mission, with a playable M3A2(ODS) platoon from COLD STEEL Troop
1-11th ACR and a german tank company (Leo2A4). All other Troops from 1-11th ACR are scripted and will attack too.
on the 20th of february we make a special event for our member “manteuffel”.
He died last month and he was a good friend and comrade. In the international steelbeasts community he was famous for his created maps, like Hannover-Weserbergland. But he was a good mission designer too.
During this event we want to play some of his missions.
Everybody is welcome to join. If someone wants to try steelbeasts this is not a problem. I have a second license and can share. All you have to do, download the latest 3.028 (64 bit) version and install Teamspeak3.
