DCS 2.2.0 Alternate Tone Mapper

Have any of y’all tried this yet?

From ED’s Chizh,
If you think that the illumination in the new patch 2.2.0 is too bright and contrasting, you can try an alternative tone mapper of graphic engne.<

I’m definitely going to give it a whirl. Currently, I prefer my 2.0 with Deferred Shading off.

Had a peak, but ran away on the reports that it killed VR framerate.

Am curious to see what you think of it though. Post screens. :slight_smile:

I find Deferred Shading really nice on NTTR, with the one criticism being that the outside of the cockpit looks incredibly good now but it’s a bit too washed out in terms of saturation while in the cockpit. The Huey is especially noticeable.

The Huey Instant Action mission is my go-to test bed whenever I try anything new in 2.0, and the Deferred Shading did not make it look good. I’m glad I’m not the only one!

As soon as I get a chance, I’ll test the new tone mapper and post a couple of screens.

Tone mapper ate all my frames. It looked nice but my 1070 can’t afford it.

My bug report thread. I had 100% GPU usage while in the GUI. I thought it would fry my 1080 :astonished::sob:

Maybe the toner patch is actually a bitcoin mining trojan?

this is the new code in the autoexec.cfg
toneMapper =
{
newTerrainAlbedo = true,
}

instead of this
–options.graphics.maxfps = 60
options.graphics.ScreenshotQuality = 100
–options.graphics.render3D = false

– add custom texture path
– note the slashes!

table.insert(options.graphics.VFSTexturePaths, E:/Program FilesEagle Dynamics/DCS World 2 OpenAlpha/Bazar/World/textures/staddons")
