Not sure if ironic is the wordā€¦ But definitely thereā€™s a fault on my side. I have to rely on my neighborsā€™ good will to let me use their wifi.
Canā€™t really complain. :relieved:

Itā€™s simply the result of the situation.

But yeah, there was a paper I read once that technically speaking pigeon internet has a larger bandwidth than any possible internet (well this was written a decade ago)ā€¦ Even if you send 4 pigeons and only one arrives, but it carries a 4TB SD cardā€¦ Itā€™s still faster than internet. Just very asynchronous. Monstrously so.

A couple of years ago a German photographer from a rather rural part of my state made a point of highlighting the poor infrastructure by starting an upload to a photo lab and then taking a thumb drive with the photos and riding his horse to said photo lab. When he got home with the developed photos the upload still wasnā€™t done :rofl:

Also if you disable some of the maps, it should make the download smaller and easier to do in parts ā€¦ just an idea

Nono, I tried different thingsā€¦ It all points to my connection.

I will try tethering my phone for a while ( I have a limited data plan) to see if with that goes faster. I have the suspicion that it will.

It might actually be the neighbor throttled my connection, probably a default router setting.
Canā€™t really be angry at them, they let me use it for free.

Thanks man. Thatā€™s way too much bother. This morning I restarted the download and it seemed to have picked up the paceā€¦ Itā€™s all good, I donā€™t die without an updated DCS. :blush:

I did some work around the house that truly needed doing, fixed, improved and cleaned and now Iā€™m a bit tired.

Nothing better to relax that some gaming with friends, but truly I need to eat first.
