Naturally. Let’s hope that the devs give us some more info soon.
Let me throw a bucket of cold water on this…oh now don’t roll your eyes, you know it is what I do best.
As I was reading this track I kept on thinking, “What works best in DCS?”
With regard to study sims, I opine that the older jets a more finished than the modern 4th Gen mods. The Viggen, MiG-21, F-5E, Mirage2000c, F-14 and even the MiG-19 are more finished than the FA-18. The F-16 looks great and here is hoping for a faster move out of EA.
The JF-17 appears to be an exception to all that and if the Eurofighter/Typhoon follows in that way, I think we will have a winner. If not…bucket💦

Frequently asked Questions
What is TrueGrit Virtual Technologies?
TrueGrit Virtual Technologies is a young company created by former Eurofighter Pilots, Designers, Artists and Programmers, who all came together with one goal and one goal only:
To bring to you the most modern, sophisticated and agile fighter jet yet to conquer the skies of DCS world.
With our combined expertise in the various fields we always find ways to make the impossible a reality.
When will you release the mighty Eurofighter Typhoon?
Our team is working tirelessly to bring this sophisticated and modern fighter jet to you as quickly as possible. However, as our main goal is to create a Eurofighter Typhoon that exceeds your expectations and is a worthy replication of this mostly classified and active war machine, it will take some time. We have just started programming and designing.
Since I know, that most of you are just as excited as we are to finally fly the Eurofighter Typhoon in DCS for the first time, I will regularly keep you informed about our progress.
What Tranche/Nationality can we expect?
We are in constant communication with the “NETMA” and our licensor “Eurofighter Jagdflugzeug GmbH” in order to bring you the most current version of the Eurofighter possible, without violating classified information.
As you might already have guessed from the published pictures and our company’s German background, we will create a German version of the Eurofighter Typhoon to start out. This version will only make the introduction to DCS as we will continue to bring more and more nationalities and capabilities to you over time.
Where do you get the data necessary for programming the Eurofighter Typhoon?
We made a huge effort over the past year, to gather all publicly available data and will continue to do so until we are satisfied with the final result.
How much will the Eurofighter Typhoon module cost?
We will launch the Typhoon in the class of “Epic Modules”. Expect the price in the same range.
Will the Eurofighter Typhoon include HMD, A/G, Iris-T, Meteor, Pirate, DVI?
We are working hard to include all capabilities of all different Typhoon nations. However, please keep in mind that there is a limit to what we can display with only using publicly available data.
Multicrew?
The Eurofighter Typhoon is a single seat fighter by nature. The double seat version is a trainer which only uses a repeater cockpit. There is no benefit for a double seater, because up to now there is no multi crew concept.
Will there be early access available?
We will be in close coordination with Eagle Dynamics regarding the release stage and date.
In all honesty here. I am never going to fly a real typhoon (the boy might ) so I agree with @schurem all I want is a cracking cockpit and fantastic 3d model to drool over and something relatively believable to play with. We are talking about classified secret squirrel level of “newness” here. Same as the raptor mod that’s floating around. I dont think ANYBODY knows what that jet is capable of so modeling it with any realism is practically impossible.
With the newer stuff close enough or believable is enough. That asks another question though, do we need it in DCS? Does it fit? Probably not but I’m gonna fly the butt off of it anyway. I can just see it now. An alternate history where I get sent back to the battle of Britain to fight of hordes of ME109s in my typhoon. Realism in that example is a silly ask. But Imagine how fricking cool it will be. I’m shaking with excitement.
I’m not sure yet. It will have to grow on me to get me to drop the Viper for this.
I never for a minute thought I would take to the viper but it’s so good. A lot of cross over from both A 10 and F/A 18. Wish it had a bigger fuel tank
I’m with the spook in this. No, not because he mentioned the Viggen.
But older airframes are easier to document.
This is why I was hoping for a F-16A early block instead of the one we’re getting. But nobody listens to me, so I’ll just enjoy the C block 52 instead.
I will get the Eurofighter and silently hope for a Scandinavian arctic scenery…
It will only get better with more HOTAS context sensitive functions being enabled.
Just to clarify,
This is NOT the “Eagerly Awaited” E.D. Announced Aircraft
I figured - since it’s not an ED project!
That one, as we all know, is phaboulous, yet phenomenally hard to pin down, shadowy, almost like a ghost or something.
I approve of the level of rivet-counting in this post.
Thank you, that said I must rivet count my rivet counting post…
In light of the new information contained in the reveal post of the developers it appears obvious that I saw the trees but missed the forest.
In fact it’s the German version of the EFA which lacks the IRST.
That means that it’s quite possibly a Tranche 2+ with A2G and more…
I’ll leave this here:
WELL worth a listen.
Which I’ve been hoping for years is the F4 Phantom!
I must say I’m glad this seems to be an ambigous project of a dedicated new team and this is not another anouncement of one of the usual busy existing third parties…
Getting the 3D artist of the Tomcat is very promising. I don’t know Gero but from his vita I could imagine he has an exact picture of the finished project in his mind an might be able to provide vital guidance for the team.
I hope the coders get along with DCS and its API. As this is their first module I expect some set backs an delays. I would be surprised if they open early access before 2022…
I won’t add much more except the cockpit screenshot they put up are PHENOMENAL!
Seriously, the quality and realism of the whole thing is nothing short of perfect…
This is all well and good…but come on…wouldn’t we really rather have an F-4?
