I would think it would be by model because they never served across branches. There were no USAF F-4Js or USN F-4Es for example.
I think that JediMaster is correct. From NATOPS Fight Manual Navy Model F-4J and F-4S Aircraft. NAVAIR 01-245FDD-1.NATOPS.
…I miss the pops, clicks and warps. I’m getting nostalgic .
If you have small enough children, your CD collection will eventually have pops and skips and warps much like Vinyl.
DVD and console game collection too.
I didn’t realize the “classic” grip I knew from the original Thrustmaster line was changed mid-F-4J run to something that looks like a cross between that one and the Hornet’s.
there were separate manufacturing lines for USAF and USN/USMC, each had special configurations as well.
No Specific variant crossed from one branch to another, at most it was parted out when deemed stricken and some parts went to depo and may have crossed from one service to another.
as much as they want to advertise one plane all 3 services, each branches aircraft was very different on the inside, and with some major parts (radar, gun, wings, etc).
Same for the F-35.
The only major part that’s used on all 3 variants is the vertical stabs.
May have been posted already but stumbled upon this today. Interesting how many similarities it has with the Tomcat. I wish they had gone a bit more into handling wing-rock; I’m sure I’ll get into trouble with that.
I am not that into F-4 but I have noticed that this was posted already here we are doomed as humanity as we just cant learn from history … even this short history as represented by this thread
just joking, its all fun and games
I guess I am looking forward to this F-4 after all. DCS seems to be the best platform for the as-real-as-it-gets flight models of high performance planes.
pre ordered … what do people think about having a night of the phantom MP session on the nearest saturday of release, could be a giggle with many craters made
I’d be up for that.
Count me in
I’ll observe from another aircraft. Probably one with a massive hole in the front and Cyrillic labels
I’m in!
Not just yeah, but HELL YEAH! I’ve got a ded server if no one else wants to host.
In.
But probably out given my timezone lol.
Only if I can Jettison my entire load on the taxiways, while looking for the wheelbrakes.
You know… professionally.
I’ll join you in a similar craft, but with French labels and Iraqi markings.
If we’re losing, we can always paint them Iranian and join half of the Phantoms…
Assuming I’m not away, I’m in too
