You know, there are laws against employers failing to allow for recovery from very, very serious ailments.

I’d sue! :grin:

FWIW, I run DCS frequently on my old dev PC[1] - in 2D of course - and it does alright. Admittedly not with the Apache or Tomcat much, heavy hitters on the FPS they are.

This PC has 7 years of junk on it and I don’t really try to optimize it as it’s just for testing code.
Window at: 2560 x 1440
Pretty steady 55-ish FPS
Clouds are hard on it
The old spinning disk hard drive is the biggest annoyance - no kidding 10X slower loading than from my my newer PC.

i5-9600k overclocked, 3060 overclocked 12GB, 32GB RAM, SSD here and I can no longer run DCS at max settings 1080p as of the recent 2.9 updates. VR works, but ghosts like hell with the upscaling modes and I have to keep textures low/medium.

Ive been wondering when these “two weeks” were going to end in release. But I have just realized there is no startup video… Back to sleep

Made me think there…not sure I’ve tried to run DCS (or any flight sim) at max settings since the late 90’s. Don’t recall having as many choices back then however.

I’m sure I have shoved all the sliders right once or twice out of curiosity since then but that never seems to work, for me, for fast-moving platforms (fighters) as I like to play them; VR made it better and worse at the same time :).

For straight-and-level platforms (I could live with 2D in these types) I would try to set things to get no less than 25 (prefer 30) over the numbers so landings felt less like hopping down stairs to touchdown.

I long ago reached the point where what amounts to the monthly payment (that never ends), to keep up, reached my personal bang-for-the-buck threshold. I foresee the day where ‘they’ win and “I’m out” regardless ---- but I’m fighting back :slight_smile: [1]

Un-related rambling…
[1] thus my attempt to get some kind of game play out of DCS (that doesn’t rely on others to be in the mood) without tanking my modest PC…I didn’t know how to do it but those that did/do just didn’t seem interested [enough].

PS: I’m going to add the Tomcat (and A10C) into Deployed soon (with no interruptions) but I can’t find your post about suggestions for waypoints to, automatically, add - something about priorities . Could you re-post in our PM thread when you have the time? Thanks. I’m pretty sure it will work ‘as is’ (the code) - the Tomcat will just ignore those beyond 4…and I’ve looked into it and, with a ‘special case’ (for now) edit, can write out the…can’t find my notes at the momement here…the ‘other’ nav points can be generated automatically too.

PSS: Ok, Tomcat in there now. As a ‘Ground Attack’ flight with the LANTIRN, among other default loadouts (the Syria campaign is 1996 so that’s what they did then)

@komemiute … I have a request for something
To try something on the f4…. Can you turn up the ware slider then press a button repeatedly in the cockpit and see if bulb associated with that button either gets dimmer or blows :thinking:
