Foothold Syria - Cold War (June 2026)

India (32) resupplied by airdrop from Aleppo (WH), successful. Landed at Hama (34).

But now … Bassel Al-Assad (21) already needs resupply, again. Keeps me busy

Yep it’s quite a challenge! I’ve been smurfing that mechanic a bit by placing FARP’s nearby and resupplying with a Ch-47 from there. Though that feels a bit cheeky. Figured out this worked after I started using FARP’s as a offensive staging point but hey, they are free once created and keep working!

Great, I took a Huey and supplied a few minor FOBs and captured Factory. Good fun, albeit in SP mode

Papa (30) and Factory (32) resupplied from Aleppo. I found a way to drop containers individually, took 4 on board to be sure, but 1 each was sufficient for Papa and Factory. Remaining 2 containers delivered to Hama (34).

South area is now fully resupplied:

Literally dwarfs my supply attempts with the Huey

Would have to practice some C-130 flying some more to be able to useful with it, maybe a path well worth to explore.

At least you can fly the Huey, I tried and practiced a lot but not with success. The C-130J is about what I can handle today. Will continue practicing helicopter (Chinook next) and thereafter fighters.

You and your Huey have certainly done ALOT of work in Foothold!

If you’re having fun in the Herc, that’s the important part! The Mi-8 is a fun one as well, that’s a little more hands on than the CH-47, without being quite as difficult as the UH-1. Also if you haven’t tried the UH-60 mod, it’s a load of fun to fly as well the SAS system makes it pretty simple to keep right side up.

Liberated Golf last night, via Hellfire to the solo BMP the AI had left standing. Went over to WP39 (Tabaqa I think it is?) and got it mostly knocked down. Got lazy again in the Apache, and got blasted out of the hover by an AT-11 from a T-62. Took up an A-10A to get reacquainted, killed most of the remaining stuff before an AFV one shoot’ed me from 4 NM out.

Hadn’t flown the Harrier in a while so took that up. I had recently changed my nozzle lever binding, and I was at 130 knots on the runway before I finally found where I had bound it, this was a preview of what was coming. I hadn’t used the TPOD since the last Syria mission I think, so I was basically orbiting Tabaqa reading Chucks guide trying to figure out how to get the mav display up. Finally got it figured out in time to kill 3 vehicles, gun 1 more, and then get shot down by a MiG-29. I believe there is 1 SPG and 1 T-62 left on site. I should have just taken up a Hind with troops and been done with it.

I should be home for at least a week straight finally, so hopefully I’ll get some time to do some flying.

Tabaq has been liberated. Additionally two enemy attack convoys one near Golf, and one to the N of Tabaq were destroyed. I knocked out all the units near the Dam, and took out the SA-6 radar and a couple launchers before I was down to just the gun and decided to be smart. A quick CH-47 hop captured Tabaq, and another even quicker one fully supplied Golf. Its about 2100 on the server, so pack your NVG’s or PNVS.

Remains of the fight at Golf.

Current state of affairs.

Took a M2000 over to the Dam and knocked out about a 3rd of the units under flares with dumb bombs and cannons. From there sent an armor group up there to finish things and grabbed a DAP to kill the Scuds at Oscar and capture it.

SCUD’s burning at Oscar.

Once that was done, CH-47 time to plus up Oscar (grabbed a downed pilot on the way), capture FOB Mike, and then head back up to capture the Dam. Everything went according to plan, EXCEPT there as a red artillery group that ended up on the SE side, and the armor group had to be micromanaged to go kill it. Fortunately, with the new hold modes available in the CH-47, I just left it parked in a hover while I handled that. Dropped the sling load and the Dam is taken.

Planned te resupply Delta and to try to capture Juliett …

Resupply Delta completed:

On my way to Juliett it appeared to be taken by red, replanned to supply Oscar, but lost connection to server on my way … so far for today.

Reconnected to server … resupplied Oscar (49) from Aleppo. Under fire in vicinity Oscar (engine 3 issue), landed Tabqa (39) and resupplied as well.

Situation as now in east, Juliett to be captured:

Took the liberty to capture Juliett with a CH-47, followed by picking up a single pilot in a SAR mission.

Server updated and restarted this morning (08/04/2026 at 1000 UTC…). Also reset my home router and WiFi since I had noticed things were getting a little slow in loading on non DCS content..so hopefully that improves things.

Oskar is under attack by some seemingly stationary T-55. I resupplied the site twice with my Huey, only to get the new spawned units shot to pieces in no time… we need a strike

Good job and agree with you @TeTeT

Resupplied Juliett (1 container, 1 container lost, troops supplied, now 4/4, but already needs more), Oscar in need of help and Factory back to 0/2 …

P.S. MOAB is Post Cold War, but might try it once.

Hopped on this morning. Added some ADA troops to Oscar and Juliet, and an armor group at Juliet do deal with the T-55’s. Took an Apache down to Military Base from FOB Mike. Had it mostly cleaned out when I lost connection to the server. There may be one MANPAD left for whoever is up there next.

Factory (31) needed to be captured, again. Dropped 4 containers on first flight and decided to send same more defensive measures on second flight, both from Aleppo:

Juliett (41) seems resupplied, with troops, but after that cargo and aircraft lost

Loadmaster fell of the aircraft

Troops dropped, tried to unload cargo while floating in cabin, but not successful.
