You can play all the story missions solo. There’s quite a bit of it. Some of the easier events can be done solo as well, but the big ones are impossible unless you have super gear. You don’t need to do them to enjoy the game, though.
I played the game for at least 200 hrs before I really started the teaming up stuff.
Thats good to know, I might give it a whirl. My wife insisted I play Cyberpunk and it’s not gripping me and she is disappointed so this might be a good middle ground
To all the Brits…
May I interest in this game?
Totally worth whatever ban I’ll get.
I regret nothing…
Too soon… too soon.
We are a nation of absolute MONGS. we deserve all we get. I sat for 15 mins last night going into London with a fire engine in front of me with his lights and sirens on and nobody would let him pass. Its ■■■■■■■ disgusting how people are acting here. I am totally ashamed
I was looking at the Steam comments. Appears more of a painting and trash collecting simulator. But there is a demo.
Newwwww World tomorrow. Goodbye life.
Damn that comes out tomorrow. Welp glad i have off tomorrow!!! Been looking forward to this for a little bit now.
Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts is a lot of fun, but also a lotta crashy. Well worth it on sale, though.
@Victork2 I still owe you the list of my PS2 games to date
btw ( asking for a friend oc ) does anyone use laptop with controllers as a kind of gaming console?
because there seems to be lot of good cheap games on steam and gog and I cant see no point in investing in another hardware. what are the pros and cons?
I do this. It works fine and is quite enjoyable. Especially when I’m in the lorry or my wife has nicked my pc
Yes here as well. I need to get a Xbox One or PS5 controller, I’m using an old logitech dualshock clone which doesn’t map well to a lot of modern games.
Syberia 1 and 2 are free on Steam right now:
Buggy as hell, but damn is it fun. I’ve decided to take out the M-82A1M for a spin and it actually makes me play smart as opposed to just cheesing everything with the VKS as I am above.
I fired up good old Falcon 4.0 today. What a fine game this still is after so many years…
2nd day of the campaign, I jumped into a flight of four tasked with SEAD for a pair of other Vipers performing BDA.
After we passed the FLOT several SA-2 sites went active, there was also SA-6 and SA-5 at the target area. I swear those emitters used blinking tactics, turning their radars on and off. The HTS pod shows the history of the emitters, so you can see where they were last seen. I sent my wingman and element to fire HARMs at those SAMs. The only one that dared to turn on its dish when HARMs started flying was SA-5 which targeted me directly, so I sent a HARM it’s way. In the debriefing I saw that none of the HARMs hit their target, but at least the SAMs were suppressed, and for the dirty work you carry those CBUs, which will take care of all the launchers in the target zone.
On the ramp after the mission:
Debriefing:
I even got 2 A/A kills on my egress (both Su-25s)
This games strikes a perfect balance for me, it’s not too switch-flip heavy, yet it simulates many systems on basic level, which doesn’t require you to spend a lot of time learning (or re-learning after you had a brake from the sim). I wish Microprose would just update its graphics, add some TIR/VR support and left the gameplay alone (systems complexity and dynamic campaign).
Yes, and I was also a big fan of Allied Force, even though it seems most of the community had latched onto the mods and making the thing more complicated than ever.
I supported the early realism packs tweaking the numbers to make things more realistic as far as ranges, reactions, lethality, etc, but the first time I missed an LGB drop because I hadn’t done every one of the 12 new steps for lasing and tracking correctly I think that was the beginning of the end for me. When Lead Pursuit just dropped off the face of the earth, and the F-15E addon for AF vanished with them, I threw in the towel for F4.
Never forget the BMS mod that turn the Falcon 4 into a master piece…
A COMPLICATED masterpiece
Exactly my point. BMS turned F4 from entertainment to work for me. I no longer got out of it what I needed to put into it. I got older, had a family and more demanding job, and didn’t get the same joy out of it that F4 gave me.
That’s why I liked Allied Force and would have bought the later titles in it as it was going to follow on from F3’s promise long before ED made DCS.
Such a shame.
I swear on anything of your choice, I still have Flacon 3.0 installed and it’s still a very very playable game today…
