Heatblur F-14 and Forrestal Update

Also don’t know why I didn’t think of it.

The F-14’s wings are the same air foil from an A-6, and the main landing gear was essentially ripped out of an A-6.

So you’re covered…

And this -

Have you seen this month’s dev update for the A-4 project? I’m extremely impressed with the progress it has made. All they need to find now is a competent EFM guy and they’ve got a basic module.

Indeed, I was quite sceptical at the start but it’s turning into something nice!

Me too, I am skeptical of WIP modules since I bought some other single engine jet, but this gets even me hyped!
Can’t wait till they release this, incredible that it’s free!

I can understand that sentiment. With Razbam’s Mirage I sat on the fence for a few months and see how it went. Belsimtek’s helicopters are just smashing so I had no problem with the F-5, although I think that was a full release. and well, LNS have us the AJS-37 after not giving us a way to throw money in their direction for a while so I was happy with that too.

There’s no rest for the wicked! While we’re working hard to iron out Viggen launch issues and add a lot of new exciting content and features to that aircraft, we’re also working very hard on every aspect of the F-14, from the flight model, to the deep subsystems, and now finally we’re taking our first big steps into the weapon systems.
The flight model is rapidly nearing full completion, with current focus being on matching our engine models to the available data.
We’ll be highlighting all of these features in depth as we move along.
Working with museums and experts around the world is one of the most important parts of the development process.
For DCS: F-14, we’ve been lucky to enjoy the hospitality of the Tulsa air and Space Center and Hickory Aviation Museum! We are incredibly grateful to be able to spend some time in real F-14 airframes to make sure we really nail every aspect of our simulation.
Next month we’re wrapping up our final F-14 research trip at Hickory, NC, who are currently working on restoring an F-105 Thunderchief. You can help us say thank you and expand on our modest contribution here: https://www.gofundme.com/2npjqn6s

You’ve got one in Seattle, and in Tilllamook, Oregon. I bet if you flashed your Mudspike credentials the latter would let you sit in it

I’m on it!

It’ll work…

Hickory is only about a 45 min drive for me. I might have to meet some of those guys and take them to lunch!

Oh don’t lead us on like that, LNS

I theink we need to write an article on how it feels to sit in different cockpits… @BeachAV8R how about some mudspike press passes. I’m sure we could be considered legit now. :sunglasses:

I think it will be OK. Based on the MiG-21 and Viggen - I think there is plenty of talent to go around. I’m hopeful that the splitting up of projects might actually allow each entity to take on additional staff and resources, allowing a faster release schedule for the separate projects.

yeah, I was a bit surprised, especially given yesterday F-14 update but ultimately that means we now have one more 3rd party working on DCS
