Just dipping my toe in the game…but the customization options are incredible…

I keep wanting to get this for Xbox One. I just dont want to pull the trigger only to find out you have to play it with friends. I know its online but I want to be able to play solo while online.

So anyone else that plays the game - a quick question. As I’m driving around in Free Mode, I see lots of other cars around me with usertags - some are white, and some are colored. Are ALL of them actual users playing at the time, or just the colored ones? I’m still trying to figure out how to get my old man driving with me online…I assume I need to add him as a UPlay friend or something.
