I had the Gameboy version and had a hell of a time trying to beat the last level.
For DCS, don’t think it’s ever been attempted, but it could be a good way to exercise a series of helicopter operations with our existing set. Great idea!
I’m good with trying to use the Shark like a hobo Apache or Viper, even if single seated and all the wrong weapons - I’m that desperate for some helo combat that isn’t the Gazelle. Is there a US Army skin for the Ka-50 already? I’d expect there is…
So, given that we’ve watched fertilizer being sprayed by a coaxial flying tractor and seeing how the Russians have invested in this type of rotor system, I find it interesting that western manufacturers more or less are sticking with the conventional arrangement. Obviously two schools of thought, not to mention the tilt rotor initiative.
There was a promising Desert Strike remake in the works made by some Russian guy. I don’t know if he plan to finish it, he released a demo few years ago - one mission similar to original one from Desert Strike.
Pretty sure I have that game on a hard drive somewhere…Would make for a fun mission idea in DCS, anyone know if helicopter spawns on the Tarawa are still fubar?
I’m sure once the updates come out we’ll see the Ka-50 get more attention in the missions again.
I for one barely fly it now just because I already have so many hours in it. That and the A-10C both, although I would be hard pressed to guess which got more from me.
When they are updated, though, it will be worth revisting them.
I really don’t have a reason to fly it right now other than to see the new pit. Which is the same thing I did in the new a10. Spent 10 minutes messin about in it.
Some new fresh missions would definitely keep me interested.
