Oculus to require Facebook

Nicely summed up.

LOL! I was spouting off to a co-worker years ago and I asked, “…why can’t I get a USB slot implanted into my head, then use my thumb drive for all the arcane info I need access to?”. I’ll bet this is doable sooner than later. Or something similar.

Cracked me up with that one. I was probably channeling Albert when I first thought that up:

“Never memorize something that you can look up” - Albert Einstein

Not sure he really said that but I thought he did, and it was a good one.

Only thing is the human brain is capable of holding more information than the entire internet combined.

That’s a lot of porn.

Seems that today Oculus stopped selling the Rift and Quest in Germany, the statement was that they are in contact with German authorities.
Probably because of this (which is likely illegal under German and possibly European law).

We will see what happens.

I do have a problem with the requirement in its entirety but the fact that current users are going to be forced to upgrade in 2023 is even less palatable. Hope the European courts stick with their current laws and tell FB where they can put their plan and forbid them from disabling current users sets in the future. It will likely not happen but imo the next best thing would be for FB to have such dramatic sales loss everywhere that they reconsider their position worldwide.
