moving further South , enjoying the landscapes along Cordillera Blanca range

btw I usually divert at the end of every second or third leg ( low on fuel , etc etc ) , then have a problem to find the airport later when I post the report . fortunately have identified this one , so can continue  - Andahuaylas Airport

Dude! It’s like we had the exact same experience flying that thing! :joy:

@weaponz248 that’s a pretty aggressive flight schedule.

Are you using my scheduler?

Lol I might be. I can neither confirm or deny the use of advance time dilation tactics learned from USAF weather balloons and a few penguins.

We’re still at the Red Sea, lagging behind considerably, considering the recent progress in the thread. Nevertheless, for a change we’ll do an overland stretch now, Djibouti Mogadishu. We’ll fly over the horn of Africa rather than following the coast line around it. As I might have some extra time to extend the leg further south, I take on a massive amount of fuel:

We’re pretty low in the water now and the take-off run is somewhat extended.

Saying good bye to Djibouti!

We’re more or less on a southward course, not much to see down there, no Giraffes or Zebras or other wildlife, but overall it’s not a bad sight seeing trip over a region I never flew before.

Mogadishu in sight to our left, seems we went a bit too much South. Turned out I wouldn’t have any extra time for this leg, so decided to water in the harbour of Mogadishu.

The result was a rough landing on the water - I had the flying boat almost empty all the time I landed previously. Not so now. If you reduce RPM she likes to drop like a rock. So I went with a high power profile landing, with throttles way above idle.

To my surprise we ended up roughly where I had thought we’d end up.

Next stop will be Mombasa at the Kenyan coast, hopefully.

Tunis to Sabhe(Libya). It was a extremely boring flight, took off. Got up to cruise and waited for such a long long time. I do not enjoy these long legs.

Tunis still looks very lush, though you can see why it was such a hard fight for the allies in WWII.

Crossing into Libya still near the northern coast.

Passing over the first mountain ranges that mark the start of the proper desert.

Descending into the oceans of sand

I did drop in some extra fuel because I was very lazy with the calculations but in the end I would have made it with a few hundred to spare. Not a lot but it’s just 4 APU’s in formation so eh, I would have been finneeeeeee.

I just wish these manuals would provide some charts and information to do the calculations yourself vs relying on the Simbrief sort of thing.

First off all, congratulations to all who already made it to Madagascar! :checkered_flag: :tropical_drink:

Personally, I am still in Europe … but for a good reason. As you might recall, I ended my last flight in Malta. There are same large aircraft MRO companies at Luqa airport … and I was lucky to be given same time in one of their Paint Hangars …

The roll-out of a MUDSPIKE FORUMS “Christmas Flight 2025” Airbus A310 aircraft:

Time to get her airborne!

Leg 9: Malta LMML (Luqa) => Greece, LGSA (Chania Ioannis Daskalogiannis), MSFS2020, real-day, real-time, real-weather, Airbus A310, IFR.

Departure Malta RW13:

En-route, over the Mediterranean See:

Auto Pilot set to LGSA, it was time to have a (short?) walk around the cabin. Took same more time than anticipated … So the Auto Pilot figured that after overflying LSGA, we should apparently proceed to the Greek mainland:

After correcting our route, we approached LGSA:

Final and (firm) landing on RW29:

Trying same traditional greek dishes here at Crete! From here onward to Africa …
