That picture. It should be labeled NSFW. The horror.

The Hammond 1590 BXFL case.
A close match for the size of the VPC Throttle.
Will put it outside the throttle…

Maybe put a wart on it…

The gear and flap handles are built into this remote controller, to make them more accessible in the SimBox. I got these cool aviationish (@smokinhole) looking 5 lead contacts with screw connectors to connect the remote with the main controller box.
They almost drove me crazy! Ok, I know! Crazier, then… At first I soldered the female connector to the shift register PCB. I then realized that the connector goes in from the outside!
Remove the solder. Pull wires through the hole, and re-solder.
Dude, you need a nut on the inside as well… :man_facepalming:

Cool looking cable though!

Awesome find! I’ll be keeping that in mind for the future. I’ve wanted to build a WWII control box to augment my Warthog throttle for a while, with prop, mixture, trim and radiator controls.

Think I’ll keep this in aluminium, and paint the main box black…

You’re an artist @Troll, in awe. I’m sitting here with a double knot in my headphones cable and no realistic plan on how to fix it.

That’s an easy fix!
Put the headphones on your head.
Do a forward summersault.
Rotate 360 degrees to the right.
Do a backwards summersault, with a pike.
Rotate 180 degrees to the left.

That should fix the knot.
Problem is that you need to move your PC, because it is now behind you…

Dusting some paint on…
Thinking of keeping the bottom plate in aluminium, to sort of stick with the VPC Throttle theme of bare metal edges.

I love those switches troll! Where did you get those?

The gear switch is an actual SF.260 handle that I got from italian surplus seller on ebay.
The flap switch I got from an online electronics shop. Can’t remember which? Probably Digikey.
The Flap knob/handle is printed aluminium from shapeway. I just had to try it

Stuffed everything inside and put a lid on it…

Finished!

Aren’t they cute together?

Now, where shall I put the gear and flap handle remote…?

There!

Isn’t it inconvenient to have the gear handle so far back?
