Samsung with new SSD tech

Nothing is mentioned about the cost…

I think these new BGA things are more for devices rather than our PC’s, and when they say ‘ready to buy’ they really mean for other manufacturer’s to OEM them into things they sell (as in on-board circuitry). Given their size (about an inch across) they are targeted at small tablets, high end phones and things like that. Size isn’t really a cost driver for PC stuff and the heat gen is still pretty bad, but they might put pressure of standard SSD’s prices down the line for sure.

Samsung do make good SSD’s though, been some problems but nothing like what some company’s had when SSD tech was new.

One day we’ll all laugh at traditional mechanical spin disc HD’s, even WD seem to have dropped the Velociraptor 10K spin drives and that has to be a sign of the times.
