Valve Index VR

This is certainly a great spring for VR. Finally things are moving again. Valve could be the company to make a generation step in VR. Looking forward to learning all the details and whether this or the Reverb will be my new headset.

Also groundbreaking new Half-Life maybe?

You are building a simnovel in DCS for the tomcat! Awww yissss!

Store page was up and then down again. Given the date, who knows, but it was on the Steam store page here:

Note: Display Port 1.2 means that it is likely a similar resolution to the Vive Pro or the Odyssey Plus, so perhaps not the super duper new high resolution displays after all…

Separate optional controllers, with ‘left / right’ indicating perhaps the new knuckles controllers:

Ditto.
I am not even a shooter fan, but I see SO many possibilities there. It is inspiring.

Using VR hand controllers to shoot stuff in VR is fun! Plain and simple!

When I got my oculus I really convinced myself I would be spending all my time flying…

Till i played the game ‘robo recall’

It came free with the oculus and its such an amazing immersive experience. I love it.

Boneworks has me absolutely convinced that it is either half life 3 with a working title and that will be the thing that sends vr through the ceiling

Or it was an abortive attempt to create hl3 and they rebranded it as Boneworks.

Utterly convinced of this

What are the two lenses on the front? Is it active illumination TO the base stations? Because it sorta looks like the inside-out cameras…

Pass-through cameras, used for apps that want to ‘look through’. Not used for tracking like the WMR or Rift S stuff.

Some good info in here:

Ah…would have been cool to have inside out AND outside in tracking depending on how portable you wanted to be.

Will be curious how dark they can get their LCD panels. Again, for us simmers…dark panels are nice to have.
