I will never forget a conversation I had with a mate from ‘The Regiment’.
The topic came around to US Navy SEALS. I laughed so hard when he said ‘They are the most appropriately named SF in the world. Awesome in the water but when they get on land they just flop around and break ■■■■ (stuff)’

Changed the brake fluid today. US technical manuals all insist on the use of DOT5 brake fluid? Mine clearly had dot 4 in there and it was bugging me a great deal more than it should have.
Dot 5 is purple, silicon based and bloody expensive. But its done, was very simple and another box ticked off. I do need to get another half a litre as i ran out but it will only take a minute to top up the level. Cleaned out the master cylinder, the seal on top and got brake fluid in my left eye, washed it oit but its still stinging and blurry 4 hours later. I’m not impressed
Also finally managed to free the air filter from its housing due to a crossthreaded bolt. Filter is nice and clean, possibly brand new.
New lift pump and hub seals should be here soon. Then the fun can start

Man…that was tough. But i enjoyed it. The driveshaft was hard to get out, but once i moved some stuff out the way, it fell out easy. The seal, i think i found the issue… clean. Surfaces.
Thats one input seal done. 3 hours. But i wasnt sure what i was doing. Reckon i can do it in half that for the other side. Maybe even quicker

I know right? Any one of these projects…I’d look at it and be like…errrr…I need to find a mechanic…because I’ll F that up in a New York minute… I can’t even fix a leaky toilet gasket without multiple attempts.

Standard nipple on them. Should make the job easy to do on your own, just make sure the master cylinder reservoir stays topped up or you end up in the situation i did where all is well then “sllllluuuuuurrrrppp” you suck a load of air in through the bloody top and waste a load of dot5
