Ha! On a related note, I’ve always found it interesting how “bruto” in Italian means ugly but in Spanish it means stupid.

As for German, I’ve always fond it interesting that the word for cheese is “kaese” which surprisingly sounds very similar to the Spanish “queso”.

In other news - the typical Sardinian “rotten cheese with worms wriggling inside” is Casu Marzu where Casu is the cheese/kaese/queso and Marzu is the Italian for Rotten = Marcio (pron.: like the month of March with a simple O is in Open at the end).
