Thanks for sharing. I ordered the C-130 and suspect I will be flying it a lot. I just love to fly, outside of MSFS.

how long before people start clamouring for this over at ED… I know I wouldnt be adverse to popping some hellfires or jdams from a herc :grinning:

I’m always amazed that there’s no better, safer way to hang these weapons than hoisting them by hand.

There are, they just $500K a per arming unit, and there are only 3 of them in the inventory, and 2 are back at the manufacturer for repair.

In all seriousness I imagine for something experimental like this there probably isn’t a purpose designed machine for it. For something like loading ordinance on dedicated attack aircraft there certainly are, but it is often time considered to be slower. “Strong backing,” manually handling ordinance, is pretty common when you’re trying to get high sortie rates even if is significantly discouraged (or even out right prohibited) by the manual.

In the SwAF we use fishing rods, as we like to call them. Wingtip ordinance still need to be hoisted manually though.

There is. In the USAF we only loaded AIM-9s by hand, everything else was by jammers.

Would you happen to have link? Not finding it via the usual spots.
