I’ve been playing Regular Light (10-46) for ages.
Hey Guys, I purchased a Zoom G1x Four effects pedal. and after a while it seemed to have the input jack like the solder joints were loose as I had to jiggle the input jack cable to get it working properly..
Well I sent it back and they sent me a new pedal and it is doing the same thing. I was wondering could my cables I bought they are subpar proabally but are they the issue as I can not see a 2nd pedal doing the same thing when it is new??
I am really thinking I should by better cables or similar not sure why I would have to jiggle the plug to get it working properly unless the plugs are too big in specwise or something??
EDIT: I just Googled it and they reccomend to tighten the inner nut on the jack.. well I am not going to do that I guess I might be sending it back. I had emailed Zoom so I will wait and see what they say.. If I send it back this time I will not be getting a replacement..
I am just gonna look for a new pedal.. kinda sucks it had some cool featrues I wanted to explore but oh well did not expect much for a 120usd pedal.. lol!!
Well I just sent back the 2nd pedal they sent me. I am not sure why I got 2 broke pedals in a row. but I think I am not going to buy them on Amazon anymore maybe it was just some bad luck.
I may check and see if Sweetwater has any monthly dealy where I can pay permonth of 3-5 months.. if not will have to save some money but right now the priority is to get my car fixed as I need a battery and change the spark plugs and vent valve..
Duty calls haha!!
Hey Guys, I had put the new plugs and wires on my car and when I fired it up it roared very nicely.. I was like is this the same engine as before..
Seemed like new plugs breathed life into it..
On the pedal front I am debating if I should get a ToneX or a Boss GM-800 Guitar synthesizer.. I would really like to get both but one will have to do for now so which one should I get. the ToneX is 429 and the synth is 1 grand.. I may have to go with the ToneX. the thing about the ToneX is is has amp, cabinet and tube mods you can do in the software to make near infinite amp sounds..
The other reason I like it ToneX Emulates the Brown sound very nicely.. I really wanted to get the 80-81 brown sound sound pack.. but the synth is super cool and has many possibilities on instruments I can emulate.. plus other wierd sounds..
I typically don’t get along with modelers, but when I was looking at those, the ToneX did seem like the best bang for the buck and was among the top two or three sound wise.
Having said that, to get a black face sound, I’ve got an amazing pedal amp, the TC Electronic Custom Deluxe 65. It’s as near a Deluxe Reverb as I’ve heard outside of the real deal. Which validates digital, at least at the clean end of the spectrum.
There are a bunch of brown face ToneX demos on YT. I’d check those out to see if one has the sound you are looking for. Otherwise, start saving your lunch money for a '63 Fender Vibroverb reissue ![]()
I would avoid Amazon for most stuff tbh. Sweetwater seems to do customer service right from what I can tell. They have dedicated techs that care about their customers. A few years ago my colleague who does our costumer/tech support went to Sweetwater for a whole week to do workshops with their techs and teach them about our products and their uses, doing live demos etc. and from what he’s told me their techs are genuinely interested in learning about the gear they’re selling so they can recommend the best tool for their costumers’ needs and they do have a direct line of communication with our US distributor and our customer support here in Germany. Larger companies like Yamaha, Marshall etc. also have permanent offices for tech support at Sweetwater iirc.
That being said, you Americans need to stop buying our pedals for a bit. Our distributor who usually has stock for three months at his warehouse is completely sold out on the most popular products and lead times for new orders are now almost two months. We literally can’t produce fast enough at the moment ![]()

There are digital amps that are indistinguishable from the original, i.e. the Kemper. Doesn’t matter if it’s clean or not.
