Arma Reforger Mudspike Gaming Nights | Next (planned) Op: 16.11.25 19:30CET

Alright, I may need some Discord help getting everything setup though.

I am now on Discord. The Reforger server is up, same mission as last time. I am still goofing around in the Fulcrum though, will join once everyone is ready

As I wrote a few seconds ago I still need to cook something for dinner. I will be a bit late so please feel free to enjoy anything you love to do, I’ll drop in as soon as practicable

I had fun, until I got in a bad spot (crappy cache was crappy) and with the spotty comms ( my mic sucks apparently) I got tired of it.

Now the boy, he had a whale of a time. He only died twice, once to a bullet, once to slipping off a stair. He killed at least three squads worth of russians.

Haminja: “At first I was driving a van and I was driving up and then the brakes didn’t work good enough and @miRage got squished and needed healing.”
“And then everybody was shooting one way and I found three bad guys behind us and shot all of them, that was cool.”
“Lots of time I ran out of ammo, so I only had an RPG and I ran into a guy so I ran back and shot him with that.” ← there’s no kill like overkill (proud dad)
“you guys are dumb all caught up aiming one way and shooting the russians there, but there were dudes coming up from the roadblock so I shot those.”

Situational Awareness in Arma was always a plus  flank security and a medic and protection in the back is quite useful often!

was with your boy at the start of the large town fight, he was doing damn well, saved my old ass a couple of times when we got to the machine gun nest :grinning:

Good turnout today! Thanks all and especially @Derbysieger for hosting.

Good fun! But for ■■■■ sake, combat spacing! Me and Komemimute were coming down the road and everyone was sitting behind the same group of rocks whilst the enemy was flanking!

Also, fuel trucks go boom. And that AI RPG… chef’s kiss

The ingame radio was a bit annoying today, I had a really hard time hearing all of you. Was that always like that or have they changed something?

The local audio seemed a little worse than last time we used it. Radios were pretty much how I remember it. Without stronger radios I don’t expect it to get better even with future patches. I don’t know whether you can get better radios in the insurgent scenario though, I couldn’t use the enemy radios when I accidentally dropped mine.

Q: Is there a particular reason for using the beta branch vs. stable?

Q2: can a server be hosted on linux?

  1. Experimental usually has a few more cool features. Not very relevant for the scenario we ran the last two times but when I set up a custom game master scenario in the past we played around with some cool stuff that wasn’t available on the stable branch.

  2. Yes, it’s possible. BI’s documentation is fantastic. Everything you need is in their very own wiki: https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Category:Arma_Reforger

those tunnels on the new map look damn scary… that could be an epic mission to clear out the mine :scream: :grinning:

Yeah last night’s run had some absolutely cinematic moments.

I’ll add me flanking a firefight between us and the enemies only armed with a pistol and coming back with a BTR-70 :sunglasses::+1:

Yes it was dinged in a few places and a wheel or two were torn, BUT… :v::grin:

Love this game.

I still think my initial plan of capturing that BTR was better!

We made good progress with the fueltruck though. They ought not to be that explosive to small arms fire!

I was a bit confused about that, the more I thought we were speeding away from the incoming fire, the heavier it got. I didn’t have a clue where they were shooting at us from.

Where did that happen? Provins? We never cleared Provins.

Nah it was between large towns, the fire came from a field, but perhaps they had a heavy gun there.
