I did once, (not by choice, long story) and wound up having to borrow my passenger’s shoes because the rudder pedals were getting too hot to touch with my sock feet.
That airplane had a little bit wrong with it, one of which was the exhausts were turned 180*, blowing right on the belly under the cockpit.
But now when I do fly in my sim without shoes I have flashbacks to that.
Not cosplay, but I’d like incense that smells like napalm. ‘Nothing like the smell of napalm in the morning.’ I’m half kidding but smell is a very powerful sensory. When I smell kerosene, it takes me back when I was 18 yrs old and being ferried by helicopters. Aviation smelling incense would add to the immersion factor of flight simming. Again I’m just joking around, but…
Brief exchange with my lovely wife yesterday, “Honey that smell [of post roast] is making me crazy, in a good way - they really need to make a beef stew/pot roast perfume! A little behind a girl’s ear and, I’m hooked!”.
She thought I was nuts, as usual. But I really believe there’s something to it.
Thanks @chipwich. Yep, we’re close like all fathers and daughters. Gliders, helicopters, camping and traveling. College is next year. We still have a hard time imagining the empty house.
Well, I suppose I inadvertently cosplay when I’m sim racing. I have been using these gloves since 2010 when I got into autocross and track days with a cousin. We also raced in a couple of 24 Hours of Lemons.
I could it take it to the next level by wearing a helmet…
