This!! Try as much as you can before you buy! A friend of mine bought the F-16 because “locally known fighter jet” and then later learned that they like the feel and cockpit of the Hornet much better.
I think that the AI is unable to answer the welcome call.
jeez, what kind of lame AI is this? even our discobot knows when it is mentioned in conversation
We can help each other by being less lazy in how we share links and videos. One, don’t use the link feature in the forum software that allows a URL to be buried inside a title. Let the “clicker” see precisely what they are clicking. Don’t just post videos or other content without first describing what’s inside. I hate that! It’s the digital equivalent of meeting a friend at a cafe, throwing a thick unjacketed book on table and grunting, “read”.
You are describing my perfect evening there.
I would love to fly the SR-71, they are incredible feats of engineering. Great point! I will try all the free aircraft I can. I have everything set up. Computer, monitor, yoke, pedals, throttles (need a temporary chair)…now I have to turn on the computer, update and load programs. I think I will fly XPlane for a bit and save up for a well-built stick and throttle. Thanks!
My digital life is basically just hyperlinks.
They allow the reader to choose their engagement level in a kind of branching, chaotic communication that I cannot express in any other medium, but which I need.
But I recognize the security risks so if this is indeed Mudspike policy, I would ask you all to pity me, help me and sanitize my posts. This is going to be tough.
@jenrick I do not recognize at all . I just throw a pile of bite-size blog posts on the table.
What about using the web browser feature of positioning the cursor over the link, revealing the URL in the application’s lower left corner, before you click?
I like to say I have that habit, but I also did not notice the scammy links. I think that says enough about how real the security risk is.
I will just have to learn to choose what I link what I don’t, and allow the links room to breathe.
I wonder if there is a site admin setting in Discourse to disable hyperlinks or limit them to trusted users?
Good point. It would be helpful if the link was visible over the cursor instead of insidiously at the lower left corner of the browser.
I was going to say (with no small amount of snark): “Well, what about phones!?” Then I tried @Freak’s post above. Sure enough! Long press works! All this time I never knew.
