Good to know. Everything I’ve read so far say that it depends on the module, so if I can run DCS World without many issues I’ll carefully check out which modules are free of Starforce.

FYI for those interested, Steam says which modules still use Starforce and which don’t on the product pages.

Anybody else noticing that the engine seems to have gone through another round of optimization?

First impression, yes it appears to have been!

@Navynuke99 it most positively has been improved, I can join and play on Blueflag again, which was impossible in the previous release!

It’s entirely possible that I misunderstood, but I think that @Gunnyhighway commented last night that the new Hornet model causes stutters when used as a static object. I noticed a few around the ramp at the departing air field last night, but thought that it was due to lag connecting to the hosting server.

I remember that too, and there’s a lot of reports of that online.

Not for me! Latest version struggles around 30FPS for me, where I used to have 90. I tried the PG map a couple of days ago, and the performance was great. Now it’s unplayable in VR…

Hmmm. Maybe related to a setting you have on that I don’t have the horsepower to enable? Or maybe it’s just to make things run more smoothly for bottom end systems in general?

I tried the VR preset…
Maybe try a repair, or flush the shaders?

Recompiling the shaders is probably the first thing to try.

Emptying the metashader folder seems to have a positive effect on performance.
But I had better FPS in the last update.
Still, doesn’t dip below 45 now, so it’s playable! :slight_smile:

I wish mine wouldn’t dip below 45 fps, but still playable to me.

DCS 2.5.2.18144 Update 2 for Open Beta

The NET protocol was changed. The current version of DCS is not compatible with old ones in the multiplayer.

DCS World
•Aircraft with “uncontrolled” setting will not damages aircraft carrier.
•Aircraft will not takeoff from an unactivated aircraft carrier.
•SVN-74 Stennis. Decreased max speed to real rate.
•Graphic options. SSAA disabled above 1080P.
•SVN-74 Stennis. Fixed AI collisions when AI group takeoff from ramp or from parking.
•SVN-74 Stennis. The aircraft will be not fall through left elevator.

DCS F/A-18C
•Waypoint Time On Target functions will not crashes DCS.
•Added high visibility textures of tanks FPU-8A.
•When launching from Carrier w/ Radio Menu Open, mouse control of camera is disabled after - fixed.

DCS Spitfire IX
•Tail wheel animation corrected.

DCS AV-8B by RAZBAM
•Altitude Sensor Selector preventing use of IRMAVs bug fixed.

That C - S translation keeps tripping someone at EDSIMTEK up.

Update came in. It was about 500 MB for bits and bytes stats fans (all modules). Just checking to see if the Harrier undercarriage still works. :slight_smile:
