I recall the discussion about this but I do not remember what the final design verdict was.

My understanding…

This concerns the little “joystick” thing on the TM WH throttle that can be used to control slew and also be used as a button…and that there was a hardware incompatibility when trying to use both with the button as the Lock button.

Yes. Problem is it won’t transit commands for the button and slew axis’ at the same time. Problem for the Hornet’s “depress and slew” functionality.

“Real Mode” = Depress & Slew
“Unreal Mode” = No Depress, Just slew (Like A-10C TGP/Mav)

I can live with that I think.

Got it…that makes sense. …and if I set it up like the A-10, that is one less thing to remember about the Bug. :sunglasses:

I should note as well that its not quite working as intended in release version right now. I am hoping it will be fixed up in the next OB.

Actually…if I were to use the hat 4-way switch on the front of the WH right throttle for slew and the other switch as the lock button…that should work.…shouldn’t it? I’ll try that today.

I use the boat switch as depress so that it “locks” while I slew.

I also have the slew control click set (since DCS allows multiple physical buttons to do the same thing) for air-to-Air radar target selection.

Using a four way hat would involve two separate button presses, so that would work too.

Updated A-10C Warthog Update and Other DCS World News

DCS: A-10C Warthog Update
In addition to the creation of new modules, maps, and campaigns, we are also quite busy updating older content. Because DCS World is such a long-lived product that is continually updated, some content will become, and look outdated as the technology advances. Two good examples of this are the very popular A-10C Warthog and Ka-50 Blackshark modules. These modules are receiving significant updates that include a complete re-build of the cockpit geometry and textures. These will take advantage of deferred shading, physical based rendering, and proper VR projection in regards it the A-10C.

In parallel, we also continue to update older AI units, the Su-34 Fullback being the most recent example. Over time, we will also update other older models like the C-17, Tu-95, and others. However, given the extreme detail put into each of these modules, it takes time.
In today’s newsletter, we have a look at the new geometry that has been created for the A-10C cockpit.

I wonder what the ETA is on the hog and chernye akula pits.

No ETA right now.

Will they be a free update or do we have to buy the module again?

The A-10C updates shown are free updates.

that figures. Years? Months? Weeks? And what about the Ka-50?

I am enjoying the hog again in vr. It is nice it and the BS are getting some attention. Will the upgrades to the shark be in readiness for its re-release? I will enjoy relearning it again with a nice new cockpit

No ETA right now.

Thanks for the information @NineLine - no ETA means no ETA. I’ve got plenty to do and both the Ka-50 and A-10C work well enough, but the love will be welcomed (esp the Ka-50).
