DCS 2.5 Update Thread (2019)

And data card, oof

At least the uncommanded roll is fixed

I care! Just the other day, I was talking to @Franze about how much longer it takes for a GBU-31 to hit a target from 31,000ft vs a GBU-10. It’s almost a MINUTE.

Then I tried a MK82-AIR vs the JDAM and it was a much closer race, but the AIR lost.

I was hoping for a new JDAM flight model + Hornet access to it.

I mean I care also, but what i really meant was, the next time i fire the hornet up, it will probably have atflir and be systems complete…

And trying to escort F-111’s

No way bugs could keep up with pigs, and if they could, only for like 15 minutes.

But I liked the USAF guy…with no head.

No Viggen KB fix? Or have I missed that one in my switching from the Stable version?

That would have been awesome, all by itself.
Maybe next round. We want it to be perfect.

That’ll probably be a while.

To be clear, this is the open beta only then? Release build doesn’t have it yet?

Yep, open beta only. The usual schedule is that next Wednesday the other branch gets updated to what is here today.

Except the open beta was already ahead of release, so now it’s two ahead. The MiG-19 never went to release, right?

I’d hoped (and maybe wrongly so) that the ā€œwhileā€ between JDAM coming to the Bug compared to the Paveway LGBs would be that development time, and the reason why we’ve gone this long without them.

Maybe not a complete re-design, but even a tweak such that your JDAM isn’t decelerating as it falls like they currently do.

Currently, you could defend yourself from a JDAM with an industrial trampoline hahaha.

All-in-all, a great Open Beta update!

Lots of fixes and tweaks for the Mig-19! Some cool Hornet upgrades! A Chinese manual for the Mig-15!

…and some sort of Navy airplane.

Next open beta for the JDAM and other things…

I gotta admit. I can’t wait for the Ka-50 improvements to come down the pipe.

The Ka-50 is my backup. Whenever I’m in MP and there are a bunch of planes I don’t really know, and I don’t want to fly the one or 2 there that I do know, I can always jump back into the 50 and fly without thinking. After over a decade it’s muscle memory now, more than even the A-10.

That’s because while I STILL need to learn TGP in the A-10C (I tend to use it like an A-10A), I know the Shkval in the 50/25T just fine and can do ripple-fire passes with ease.

My most neglected plane–the Su-25 non-T. I probably haven’t flown it since the first year FC3 came out!

My most neglected machine is the Mi-8. Just never gotten around to learning it. There’s always fighter stuff to do, and tbh that ranks just a little higher on my list than choppering around rubber dog excrement in a clanging collection of spare parts begging to spread themselves all over the landscape.

I can’t say that I learned the Mi8 thoroughly, but it is a lot of fun to fly, especially in VR. Sooooo many switches!

While I haven’t flown the 25s in a good while, at least I have hours in them.

The MiG-21, F-86, Viggen, and AV-8…I have less time in all 4 put together than the 25. :disappointed:

The Mi8 is a real man’s chopper :sunglasses:
