DCS 2.7 Discussion

That doesn’t seem irrational at all…

No dear, it’s not strange at all. It’s something that happens to every healthy growing boy. It’s part of your nature

Kids are crying their streamed video is halting. No dears, I have no idea why that is, perhaps you could play with the lego instead? :smiling_imp:

:eyes: :eyes:W O W :eyes: :eyes:…I guess my PC will be occupied for a while!!!

I have been performing an experiment using my phone as a hotspot and a WiFi adaptor and been getting much better results than using my massive expensive Ethernet connection

@tempusmurphy I’m getting 2.5 meg max out of BT and up to 6 on EE and that’s just on 4g as no 5g at home

Laptops and mobiles have better wifi than desktops if you are using wifi with your pc. No excuse if it connects by cable.

It’s got a hard wired connection with cat 6 cable but BT is absolutely and completely shite.
I’ve got unlimited data on my phone as it’s a work contract so I just hotspot it and for big downloads it’s halved the time I get from ethernet

It works!

  • With enabled mirrors black flashes may appear in some cases.

Confirmed!
I did a quick dogfight in the Spitfire and had all these black squares flashing, occasionally. Then I tried the Viggen, with mirrors on, and had no flashes. That made me think they had done something clever with the mirrors, because performace was really good with them on and the Viggen being overhauled perhaps didn’t suffer from the black flashes. But after I landed and taxiied in, the flashes started… Oh well, it’s a known issue and they’ll fix it, I’m sure.
Speaking of the Viggen… Ooooh my…! I suspect they fixed even more than what’s covered in the update list. It ground handling is better, although some rudder curve is still needed. I dialed in 25 now. Previously I had a 40 curve on the rudder.
I need to do some more testing.
Great update, ED et al. :+1:

General performance seems to be up as well.

Trying the training missions for the Viggen again. Can anyone else confirm that the waypoint/navigation seems not working? I’m following the steps but when using something like B1 as an attack target it is pointing the wrong way. I tried the Rockets and the High Drag Bomb missions and they both seem the same.

Is this just me and I’m driving it wrong? (hopefully)

EDIT: Looks like I may have picked a bad Xmas holiday to redo the Viggen…

EDIT2: Hotfix is planned, so the curse of doing a major update just before a long public holiday remains in effect. :santa:

I bought the new Huey campaign after seeing the video

Also I dont know if people spotted rockets for the Mossie and C47s

It looks like they took away most of the static aircraft at Andersen AFB on Guam…or was that done in previous patch?..anyway it really helps performance there.

  • Added Canopy physics

If anyone wondered what that meant…

I love having a fiber connection.

Thats just mean. I managed to get mine up to 5.5meg for about 4 minutes last night then dropped back to 2.2.

Eh, unpacking and patching will be as slow on his box as it is on yours, maybe slower. In the end that bottlenecks it, not the download speed.

To be honest I never really understand the process other than the actual download speed.

The unpacking and stuff is a mystery to me.

Oh man this looks good. The Weather, F-15E, A-6, London AND Paris (Channel Map expansion?!?!?), South Atlantik, Afghanistan and I think that was an F-4 Phantom II gunsight in the end? :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Was going to point that out as well - but wasn’t sure which version they teased.
