Heh. You should see FDEV, the outfit that does elite dangerous.
Nah man this stuff takes time. Let it take time. It is slow yeah, but it aint ridiculous.

For a subscription model, itâs unacceptable. Sorry, calling it like I see it. The current model? Yeah, I donât mind the wait.
Agree. A good reason not to go with a subscription model. The monetization of DCS is just fine.
$100 for the F-14 plus an up-to-date carrier is, to misquote Team America, a âheafty flipping feeâ. Is it unfair or unreasonable? Probably not. There were people who paid thousands for Star Citizen. But if this trend continues, DCS will become my 2nd most expensive hobby
Compare to the professional license of P3D: $200 buy in, plus many aircraft sold for it are $60-100, depending on the model â mostly the modern advanced aircraft types. When you think about it that way, paying $100 for a full access F-14 tends to make sense.
Yes, but why are they so slow developing core features? Because they cross finance them via aircraft modules. Whenever an aircraft module brings in excess money, they âbuyâ a little time to work on the core.
This is the sole point of going subscription. ED not being forced to allocate so much time on modules, instead they would be able to put more resources on core development.
I donât know if thatâs necessarily true or not. Iâve been an Iracing subscriber for a few years which is sub based and I would make the argument that their core is also notoriously slow to update. Only difference there is somebody could argue that the majority of their sub fees go to server hostingâŠ
No everyone at ED knows one of the biggest things needing love is ATC all over. They have no plans on how it will be added, but development is already starting I believe, atleast the planning while the Carrier ATC blazes the way.
Yikes.
At the risk of sounding too negative, it hardly seems like a priority.
Below is from January 2016:
Three years late and something they havenât even planned anything yet?
That wasnât even the first time they announced it. I am pretty sure I can dig up a post from 2011 saying the same thing.
Letâs hope that the carrier module speeds that up considerably.
Each year, that list puts a melancholic smile on my face.
And they wonder why people is bit pissed off âŠ
Bad marketing may be just russian style to make things
Fans of this stuff make wishlists. We do, they do.
Sadly between dream and reality thereâs laws of nature and men and all their complifications.
You donât have to educate me on the realities of software development, I face that every day at work.
When I say they have no plans on how it will be added, I do mean if there needs to be any purchase, etc. Itâs a core feature but a major undertaking to do it right, they are already starting to do initial work on it.
Russian style marketing⊠Yes from a company owned and managed by a guy from the UK, a video presented by some one from the US, and now being commented on by a Canadian, so the whole Russian dig is getting slightly tired.
You guys are doing great work. We all may have our opinions and are passionate, but the bottom line is DCS is the best there is.
In Soviet Russia, game market YOU!
I actually initially read that with a thick Russian accent for my inner voice!
âMoose and squirrelâ âŠoh that is too much!
You forgot âbased in Switzerlandâ
I was the best man in a wedding in Munchen in the late 90s. During the rehearsal dinner, one of the groomsmen was t(r)oasting me. I realized that a Turkish guy, was giving a toast in German, about an American, who was the best man to his Canadian best friend, whom was marrying a German, whose mother was Italian. It certainly was a âwhy canât we all get alongâ moment.
