Once you start taking off and landing the Harrier (especially on a carrier) that is when the fun begins. Its cool, its unique and its fun. Nothing like it in DCS.

I’m very curious to hear why you don’t like it. To me it just seems like pretty much any other B-scope.
Having only messed with it a little, I think that it’s just different from the F-15/16 that I’m used to. I’ve got a lot of time behind a virtual Westinghouse radar screen, and it’s probably just a case of not liking change lol. For example the little yellow NCTR indicators really draw my eye, and depending on the range scaling can overlap the actual target marker. I also might just be doing things wrong, but it seems that moving the TDC cursor to the top of the display doesn’t bump the range up? Definitely pretty much hardwired that reflex in years ago.
I think I’m going to get the hornet, I like how versatile it is. It’ll will keep me busy until we finally get a Strike Eagle or a Tornado.

It does, it can be finnicky - what you have to do it sort of “bump” the top of the display with the TDC and then back down. If you hold it at the top it seems to think you are trying to work there and not change the display on you - or that is the best guess or cover story I can make up on the spot.

I’m getting better with it, but finicky is the right word. I think I got it move on it’s own a grand total of 1 time tonight.

Is the NS430 add on for the Gazelle new? I’ve never seen it before I always thought it was the Hip and C101 only.
Has anyone used it? Is it worth a punt?
It’s new yes. That’s also why it is not on sale although you can freetest it. It’s also for the L39 btw. I haven’t used it in the gazelle myself yet.

The Gaz has it’s own inertial nav system already…? I’ve never had issues using the Nadir, once I dig out the documentation to remember how to use it lol
So can someone explain the Super Carrier? Is it just basically a much more detailed USN carrier than the Stennis? I see the stuff about the ready room and all that in the module details, but can’t find any thing on DCS’s sight explaining what all they plan to do with it.
Thats pretty much why I asked about it. It seemed an odd addition. Although the moving map would be handy i suppose
Pretty much, yes. It has some extras like some RIM-116 RAM launchers, a laser that indicates your alignment and of course the deck crew to marshal you around and launch you off the boat. You’ll also get the updated Admiral Kuznetsov, sans deck crew unfortunately. As for the promises about whats going to be in after release, I would look at the storepage.

I’d say, if you don’t have it already, and it’s on sale now, and you like carrier ops…get it. It’s not finished (nothing in DCS is or ever will be) but I really couldn’t go back to the Stennis.
Have you tried adjusting the brightness and contrast? I was not a fan of the F-16C Scope… After I changed brightness and contrast, its alright!
Handling the wife is easy. Tell her you were either going to buy a motorcycle to do some track days. Or that you were maybe going to start going to the spinning class at the local college. If it all fails, pile her shoes in the living room and say with authority. “Each Pair costs more than a DCS Module!” When My baby questions my spending, I simply ask “How many pairs of shoes do you own?” I know the answer and I say it with her “I DONT KNOW” Argument over.
