@BeachAV8R, I think Kai needs one of these:
Suicide Machine anyone?
Dudeman didn’t even duct those rotors. That’s a bold strategy, Cotton.
Is it wrong that I want one of these?
No, cause after I read the description I wanted one too. Actually sounds really cool
Hey…the ducts only keep the blood from splattering horizontally…
They’re also really convenient for punching the drone without cutting your hand. not that I would have any experience with that
The Helmet is only there to have something to bury
Thread update - I did order the Syma X5C - at $49.99, I can afford to have Kai fly it into the lake or firepit…LOL… I wanted one with a camera because he specifically was wishing for a “spy drone”…(six year old’s with their imaginations). I also ordered the 5 extra battery and charger bundle and the four-pack of extra rotors. Should be fun to mess around with. I’ll be sure to post videos of his first drone flights…
Be sure to register it Chris. Something else to be aware of… don’t bust any regs. I read that the FAA has attempted to go after a Private Pilot’s certificate because he flew his drone in a manner that they considered irresponsible.
It looks like the Syma X5C (according to THIS list) doesn’t need to be registered (under .55 pounds). And Kai is going to take the fall for me…LOL…he will look great in prison orange!
Well if it’s under the weight limit then you are golden . Still, great idea to line up a fall guy
.
I’m gonna print him up a nice little FAA certificate…LOL…
If the faa is anything like the caa, then i’m afraid Chris, you will have to charge Kai over 200 pounds for pressing “control P” and signing the bottom.
LMAO! I am glad you took my advice. My buddy just got into drones. I told him to mess around with My X5C. Wreck it, fly it into walls, I don’t care. Its been nearly indestructible. I have learned to fly it even in the living room. Lots of fun.
My son has two years to go before he is six. I did get him an orange prison suit… No Wait! Its a pilots suit. ha ha ha.
Happy flying with your little man.
So I’ve been loving Kai’s X5C so much, I went ahead and ordered another one so we can do battle in the skies over Kings Mountain! I guess mine will be the Dark Side since I went with black/red…
Yeah, regardless of my advice above, with the HD camera the X5C-1 was a great deal. We bought one for my nephews who were visiting. I gave them a little demo flight around the backyard, before moving to the garage for some drone boot camp. It’s a little sluggish in yaw and roll, but otherwise a lot of drone fun for the money. The video was surprisingly good for being unstabilized.
That’s very cool looking. Mine are white. I painted my “main” one Yellow front and Back in back. That way I can see witch way its going. I take off the camera, landing gear and prop guards to make it lighter. Makes a big difference. Have you used the flip button yet? Lots of fun.
That’s a good idea about painting it…because the green/red LEDs aren’t bright enough in full sun to really tell. I’ve got the prop guards on right now…but bought a bag of extra props…so I can probably take them off soon. I haven’t used the flip button…still just flying around in low-rate at this point.
