ADF mission Close Hostiles
I’m so frustrated by that ADF campaign mission. Difficulty is still hard (and confidence is also high), and it’s so difficult to survive in air combat and protect Antonov 70. Despite tactics when we climbed to the altitude between 30000 ft to 50000+ ft, the enemies were not on our radar (EMCON 5, we tried all possible combinations of EMCON, speed, altitude, etc.) until they did not spawn in the air. There were in theory 3 flights that needed to be killed (each has 4 planes) but there were other (at least 1 additional, maybe 2!) flights spawned in the air if we were too fast and advancing over the sea to the enemy to protect our plane. Based on several ACMI analyses we realized that enemy flights are always tracking the leader (me) and open fire against a leader. So as you can see in the screenshot above we also split to focus on a left group (me) and a right group (winchesterdelta1) to save as many as possible AIM 120R/C to other incoming waves. The hardest for me was doing the right defense maneuver in the first fire because a key point here is to survive the first shoot, and then keep pressing to the enemy. Sometimes enemy avoided AMRAAM like a TOP GUN and it was hard to believe was possible. In some of these attempts, I fired 8 AIM 120C to hit and they destroyed only 2 Rafale! TWO enemy planes. Yesterday I also used my gun dogfight skill and shot down Rafale in the dogfight (there were 2 focusing on me) but I was hit 30 seconds later by another Rafale in the next vertical circle during a head-on meeting, unfortunately. Incredible match. Anyway, if the enemy fired AIM 120 at ANTONOV the mission is over.
10+ attempts still without success. Is hard to believe we survived the first attempt the previous night. Unfortunately, my human wingman was in so close formation when he hit my plane and was immediately deceased.
The mission looks easy, just kill 3 flights and survive.

How that is possible? Because, when we flew back my wingman was in so close formation, the game evaluated it and a wingman died, unfortunately. My plane was not hit but I closed a mission before landed. We were so close!
I was hosting the MP session, and after a mission, I noticed I kept as usually a difficulty is set to hard. Hard to believe we survived 3 air combats.
