I just did a thing…

My floor is carpeted, so no gluing/nailing/affixing anything here!
I do have a board on the floor against the wall that my MFGs or Fanatec pedals push up against to prevent them sliding away. Unfortunately, the Fanatec brake pedal is so strong that the front lifts from the floor when I push more than about 50% on the brake unless my right foot drops to the plate and applies pressure with my heel.
I may need to bolt a heavy weight to the plate (using the racing pit mountings it has) to keep it down under heavy braking.

I used to just use Velcro strips (the hook strips) to attach my Crosswinds to the mat I was using and this worked reasonably well for the most part. It is night and day though having them securely mounted with the SimFab pit (highly recommended).

I feel your pain. Carpet is hard to work with when it comes to pedals.
So, I just did a thing… my first sim pit.

When I bought the pedals the owner of the shop said she had an open box Next Level Racing Pit that she could give me a real good discount on… She even delivered to my house. I spent the day putting this together. The kit is a real gem. Instructions as clear as they can get. Pictures and Notes! And there are so many options… Keyboard, Center Stand, you name it. I think seatbelts are a bit much and left them off.

Nice! A simpit really does make a difference (more than I thought it would).

I’d need to hit the lotto to get that–because I’d need a new house for the space!
My desk is sufficient right now for flying, racing, and FPS/RTS/strategy/etc. If I got a pit for flying, that’s all that PC could do, and it takes space I don’t have.
Then I’d need another rig for racing, which requires even more space. Plus I’d still need the desk for the RTS/FPS/etc that you can NOT do in either type of pit.

Looking at Maico’s shot there that would be torture to play Ready or Not in! Awesome for DCS or Il-2, madness for Company of Heroes!

So yeah, I guess once my kids are old enough to move out and vacate their bedrooms I could conceive of it (although then you have 2 or more PCs to keep current instead of one).
Also note I live in FL so we have neither basements (because it would be a pool) or an attic (because you’d die of heat exhaustion).

I find the pit cozy and comfy. I may do some racing w it some day…
I do have some advice if anyone gets this. Its the pedals mounting plate. I turned mine around today. There is a lip at the front you step on all the time. Most of us dont wear shoes in the house, much less while simming.
Turning the plate around was easy. No more sharp edge next to my heels.

That’s a lot of wind in there. Are you planning on running big overclocks?

It’s not a PC @JediMaster. It’s some strange new form of drone.
