I was all set to purchase FC as I hear it is amazing in VR but learned there is no campaign or even single missions. I mostly fly SP, am terrible at MP, and every time I do fly MP I get mauled… if anyone is online. Such a shame.
Instead I’ll get Bodenplatte. It’s actually an incredibly good deal if you think about all the planes and maps it offers!
Pat Wilson makes an excellent mission generator that works in FC - will be a great option until the official missions.
Flying Circus in VR is terrific. The 4.001 release has made VR even better. I recommend it wholeheartedly if you are interested in WWI flying.

I pre-ordered because of the planes. They are some of my favorites so it was a “no brainer.” I’m not really a warbirds guy but the IL-2 series is too good to pass on.

I have installed the FC version and am impressed Chose the Dolphin and began a campaign. Thanks for link I can thoroughly recommend it
I can’t get over how ridiculously good the P-47 is. I literally spend all weekend doing touch and goes!
Yeah, I like the Jug too but really liked the Mk. IX Spitfire, climbs like a beast.

Totally. The cockpit is sublimely beautiful. The attention to detail everywhere has the dial turned to 9 or 10. The sound is hair-raising. It flies like it looks. Big, stable, lumbering and tough.
My favorite Allied mount in IL-2. Then the Mustang.
No love for the British contingent? The Spit will out-turn anything in the sky and the Tempest feels like they took the best characteristics of a Thunderbolt (powerful engine, good ground attack) but still managed to make it maneuverable. They just seem to have a magic to them that the Yanks can’t quite match for me.

Actually I do enjoy those aircraft as well. Have flown the spitfire a lot but haven’t tried the Tempest yet.
I wish we had a flyable one in IL-2 GB!
