I agree wholeheartedly that OH-6A mod was on par with the best official modules regarding the flight model.
I don’t have any real world piloting experience, but OH-6A just felt so natural and the feedback is so immediate. It quickly became my favorite module to the tune that I donated to the development.
Current drama just makes me sad, because we will eventually lose the mod when DCS makes breaking changes. UNLESS there’s a paid OH-6A in the making.
I think if he had been offered a contract to make a paid module, @EightBall would have been informed. A paid module would be great and for sure I would buy. But in the current DCS “world” it would be very limited. Much like the Huey but without the lift. Until we get DCS Vietnam that is.
Answering @TeTeT below. Not at all OT. That was pretty informative. Like nearly everything in life, the truth is dependably more complex than what one appreciates.
Somewhat Off-Topic: In the Unsung mod for arma 3 we had also former team members that asked to remove their content from the mod. Naturally this is quite a headache for a mod team, who’s usually short on resources. Hence Eggbeast, back then head of the mod, asked for a contributor agreement that basically states that any work for the mod stays in the mod, no matter what you want to do in the future.
For Vietnam War Vessels we use a Creative Commons license, so once the assets are in the mod, they can be freely redistributed. For the source models however the license is often not clear cut. Most paid models come with a somewhat restrictive license, limiting the assets proliferation in its open and unprotected form.

I want to make it very clear. There is no THEY in this story. He acted alone, completely out of the blue and without even as much as a heads up.
I received a message from him last weekend saying “I signed a contract, was great working with you. Best wishes!”
Then he blocked me on Discord and nuked everything.
Then he monitored the forums for the community response and 2 days later, once someone called him out for his behaviour he used that as an opportunity to portray himself as a victim and withold any statement.
What a gut punch fir all of you who contributed. All this talk made me want to take her out for a spin after a long hiatus. Such a lovely model.
It really didn’t have to end this way, it’s a shame indeed.

I don’t see any reason (legal or moral) that would prohibit copying and using the freely released mod. Continuing the development of the mod is another thing.

Little Bird to the rescue. We need to figure out how to load two of them in the Herc. Below is unsubstantiated, but the photo evidence seems to support it.
Just a couple of tips to those of you still flying the LB. If you get a buddy lase or use one of the many self-lasing scripts to fire APKWS rocket, through testing, it was determined that the LAU-131 launchers don’t allow the rockets to guide. Which may be as designed, since checking the Arnold Defense web site, see that the 131/A and 131 A/A launcher were designed for the US Air Force.
Better, chose the M260 launcher in the ME or on the Rearm/Refuel screen for shooting APKWS rockets. They were designed for the US Army and are money with laser guided rockets.
Also, there is a bug that has the LB self destruct on shutdown, not a good thing, since you need to do this when rearming/refueling. To not have your killer egg beat itself to death on the pad, this is what works for me every time. I don’t believe that you need to do this on the OH-6A.
