I’m still manually sending her places. I think in order to automate it you would have to set her up with a passenger route and a passenger configured aircraft. I’m not totally sure about that though…
So about that company MD88 - how does it work, game mechanics-wise - could I in theory fly it for company jobs if I had the module?
in FSE it is no problem, but I guess we have no MD88 under M.A.D. in FSE; no we dont, just checked.
dont know how this works in AirHauler2, if you can participate in other people companies. but I guess that we talked about something like that before release, dont know if that became reality after release.
Do you have a 727 in FSE? I’m suddenly interested in hauling freight and learning more approach plate stuff lol
sorry, only these for now. didnt find any for sale either. M.A.D. dont have such funds atm even if there will be one for sale.
only chance that somebody already owns it and could lease it to M.A.D.
Yes…at least in Air Hauler 2, any 3rd party plane you own can be imported into the “marketplace”. From there, you can either buy it outright if you earn enough cash, or build your own by assembling parts as you visit airports. This requires a factory at one of your bases (which costs money to build). In the end, it is much cheaper to build your plane…about 1/3 the price of a new plane - but it does cost time to go find the parts. It is a bit of a grind sometimes to find all the parts…
Sorry, let me try to rephrase.
Do the game mechanics allow MAD as a company to own an aircraft, and for any of us to fly it to earn money for MAD?
Or do we all need to individually work through the money grind (or use the start option with money) to buy / build our own planes and then use our own planes to do jobs that earn money for MAD?
Sorry, I’m not making much sense today.
If you are asking about Air Hauler 2 specifically, yes…with some qualifiers:
When you set up a community Air Hauler company, individuals can contribute money and/or aircraft to the fleet. You accomplish this by “transferring” the aircraft to the Virtual Airline. From that point forward, the airplane can be used by anyone, BUT, if it is a non-stock aircraft, other people do have to own the airplane. For instance, I think it was @boomerang10 that transferred a TBM900 to the company, but since I don’t own the aircraft (I haven’t bought it), I can’t fly it. Right now, the Mudspike fleet includes:
Cessna Skyhawk
TBM900
Twin Otter
Husky
Do228
Kodiak
Fokker 50
So IF you own those aircraft (as in you purchased them), then you would be able to fly them for your own company OR Mudspike Air Cargo. To fly them yourself, you can just check them in/out. I would assume you still have to take the “type rating” to fly them. I believe they also get left wherever you leave them.
The only bummer…well…the real shortcoming of Air Hauler 2…is that the company itself doesn’t generate revenue jobs. They have to be imported in my each user. So if you saw a route you wanted to fly, you could send it to the Virtual Airline, and use one of those aircraft or your own to fly it. It might work out well if there was a “dispatcher” that culled through routes and imported them into the company and opened them up to bidding…but that would be a step too far as far as management. I’m not sure why the VA company can’t just generate its own routes and let people fly them.
There. Clear as mud right?
Sweet! I get it! I think.
I might keep an eye out for a Christmas sale for the Dornier or the Twotter…also probably need to finally bite the bullet and get that fancy 3rd party GPS you all use and love.
That’s not mandatory. It’s a good add-on but don’t feel like you have to.
I have seen this beast “live” at ELLX on a couple of occasions.
Seeing it taking off really makes you think of chemtrails.
Antonov eating Airbus?
my visit at org store after looong time. bought me some trees for my local FSE flights. hoped for XP not crashing this time and I was lucky.
this picture doesnt give it a justice as the weather was marginal but I really like Global Forests products, the variety, the placement, nice (on the below pic coupled with ortho scenery)!
wish they have some product for Africa… are there any trees in Africa btw!?
So as the end of the year approaches…time to make some Human Resources decisions. Destiny has been ramping up in qualifications…currently a Rank 5 - Flying Instructor.
We have some unused assets sitting in Pullman that we need to get flying. Some of them require a two pilot crew, so we went ahead and looked over the resumes available and settled on Daniel “Danganistan” Stanley. Allegedly likes fishing and mountain biking. Hopefully he doesn’t fish from the company dock and start a relationship with Destiny. Or maybe that is a good thing. Maybe we can grow new pilots.
Hopefully Destiny doesn’t harbor any animosity for bringing in a Captain rank, but we will keep ranking her up as well.
yep, family business
…
oh wait, 16k of gold per month??? thats standard?
I know right? He’s making more than the Director of Operations…
I want to become AI pilot
First run for Danganistan - I was surprised that Air Hauler allowed him to fly the Embraer 135 solo - somehow he managed to get a single-pilot type rating in that thing…(then again, they gave me a single pilot type rating in it too when I first built it…)
He ran some livestock from Portland down to Sacramento - netted nearly $537K after deductions for landing fees and fuel - dang! At that rate, he will be able to buy Destiny her own Embraer!
