you did the homework @BeachAV8R
…decisions, decisions (went with ‘Hard’ difficulty)
3900ft !? who would want to fly that high in this little bird
ready for some jobs
I have sort of given up on AH2. It is an incredibly rich experience if one dives deeply like Beach has done. I just want to plan flights and fly them. FSEconomy has been a bit less clunky for that. I’ve done some light flying for MAD but haven’t contributed nearly so much to the cause as @Nevo.
Yeah…the real incentive for me has been the resource collecting to build planes that I fancy having in my fleet. I keep saying I will stop pursuing parts and settle into just flying contracts, but the lure of building that next plane is always out there. I am a collector at heart I suppose…
Crossing past Lake Tahoe on the descent into Sacramento (KMHR)…
Shooting the full RNAV 4R…
On and in with an OK landing rating (-300FPM)…always teetering on the edge of damage with this bird…it is so hard to judge that eye-height…
A nice bounce back in profits from the C-17 build has put us solidly in the black…
I think my contribution is in number of flights for MAD in FSE rather than in profit. My helo flights didnt generate that much ( but I said I will transfer my earned money to MAD so I should do that now… done ).
FSE is great, but I came to a point where I decided that I want to fly from a specific base in a specific bird to specific other bases. In FSE building FBO at specific location is nearly impossible at this point. And buying any aircraft means that one need to earn money first then usually transfer that bird from its actual location to the wanted location.
But for flying like ‘pilot for hire’ it is good.
I realized that I am ready for the AH style of flying where I get some starting cash and option to build base where I want. The added ‘game’ element is nice bonus
I did try the commodity market. Seems like good business, earned some 4000 gold (despite H269 not being the best hauler oc). Wish the commodities can be bought and sold also on smaller airports
Yeah…it would be nice if they had both a smaller commodities market for the tiny GA airports…and a smaller parts finding system…like one that would require maybe 20 parts to build a plane instead of the current 7 (or a bit more depending on the number of engines - I haven’t tried to build a B-52 yet…haha…)…
well, its a grind…
after few flights in my H269 and with the base overhead sitting at 16k gold I have decided to speed up the cash flow a bit before my overhead starts to reduce my company cash. I hired a pilot… and going to buy another H269 once she finishes the type rating. Hope it was good move
This is already my second company. I fired the first one with ‘Hard’ difficulty, but then decided to go with the ‘Career’.
Nice…! Having an AI pilot definitely helps out. It is interesting watching to see if they damage anything…
Exactly my thoughts. Thats why I decided to buy second H269. I didn’t want her to damage mine
Its great that you tirelessly reported on your progress and operations. Its easier now for me to navigate in the company management ( we will see how long it will last for me ).
Yeah…you have to keep an eye on the pilot experience levels too. You can either pay more to hire a more experienced AI pilot or let them level up on their own…but the size (in weight I think) of the aircraft they can fly is correlated to their experience level. So one of my pilots cannot fly the Embraer 135…and neither of my AI pilots can fly the C-17…they will have to build experience by doing additional trips.
thanks for the headsup, anyway it will take some time till we make enough money to buy something bigger, but who knows… Sara completed already two cargo jobs without scratch. Can I increase her salary?
btw I had a quick glance into the AH2 manual and found following :
Pilots only gain experience for jobs which are over 40NM in distance
between the departure and arrival point.
So I guess I will have to look also in some distant jobs for her.
Was looking into the cargo jobs, checking the cash flow, checking my fleet…
I have added insurance to both H269s, one never know. Looking further at the helicopters I decided to make even more out of them, I did a new hire.
Luis Harper is now type rated and going out for his first job (Sara will be upset, put mildly, because two of her completed jobs were logged to Luis even before he completed the type rating).
So now at times when I wont fly both helicopters will be in use generating income…
…and then I realized I am playing a game. Heli Company Manager 2021!
We need more helo fans to entice Slopey to make AH2 playable when pulling for power! If only I could designate my own airports and heliports and set the level of activity at each. Slopey sees this as a cheat. Well yeah it is. But I am not on any sort of worldwide competition with other AH2 users to see who can have the biggest fleet of A380s. This is my personal little sandbox.
Why cheat? Like the user set level of activity? Because what could be wrong with designating own heliports for example?
