I installed these more contemporary sliding closet doors by our front door today …

We had some old 80’s style mirror doors that had no style and weren’t the best quality.

I actually had fun installing these and I highly recommend them. Quite easy and I’m really happy with the result.

OMG, I’m sitting here laughing hysterically LOL! You guys are the best.

BTW, trying to drill screw holes through tile is the only unfun thing I did on this project. I kept melting drill bits. Finally just got a nail and hammered it homer with a small sledgehammer.

That is either a well played grammar joke or an excellently timed typo

My first BBQ build today! (still haven’t removed the stainless steel wrap) …

I had no idea what to expect but it was pretty easy after I figured out the illustration only instructions were over illustrated! (showed too many parts at once). I built it in my car hole (garage for the French) because the box was too heavy. Built to perfection man … not one unused part left and I still got to use my little sledgehomer!

I got away with not having to put together a BBQ in the past because my wife found this AWESOME Broil King BBQ at a garage sale for $60 like a decade ago …

Fell in love with the Broil King name since then (North American made) because it always grills beautifully and lasts forever until yesterday. I grill year round and have never covered it.

Oh ya … also found this cool trash bin while looking for the BBQ

Fixing things in our house, so we can sell it…!
You know those mouldings that never got nailed down?
I have several!
I have started the process of finishing all those small projects that I started and very nearly finished. Some projects were put on hold, awaiting other projects. I mean, why call an electrician for every little project, when I can save money on coordinating several projects that need electrical work…? Yeah, that just leads to several projects not being finished.
The bathroom is such a project. Nothing wrong with it, but we’ve wanted to change it basically since we moved in here. While we were unpacking our stuff, we realized we were going to be parents… Not the best time to fix the bathroom. So we waited with that project. And we waited. I could sell the house as it is, but having a good looking bathroom and kitchen, is something prospective home owners appreciate. So, that cracked sink needed a repair. Turned out that repairing a sink isn’t the easiest thing in the world. I got a relatively cheap display furniture and exchanged the old bathroom furniture and fixings.
I think it turned out well! Forgot to take before pictures.

Yeah, still need that electrician to pay a visit

Whoa! A floating vanity?! Nice job! I’m assuming that’s for a kid’s bathroom? Adult vanities I’ve installed lately are about 3 foot (35”) tall. Anyway, first test is to put some weight on it. I think a floating vanity should hold ~ 220 lbs. (solid wood vanity should hold ~ 330 lbs) Don’t ask me why I’m interested in this.

I’m not liking the curvy silicone caulking at the back of the sink to the backsplash … looks messy. Make it straight or lay a horizontal piece of painter’s tape just over the apex of the curviest part and get ‘er real straight.

BTW, you wouldn’t catch me renovating for a sale here in Canada. I shed enough sweat just getting our house up to our own spec. People usually just gut the house and put in whatever they want before moving in around here anyway.

Wow, I’m like the Gordon Ramsay of reno’s LOL!

Good luck with the sale.

I’m definitely not showing my wife this renovation or I’ll be forced to do something. This winter is definitely going to be home improvement winter. We’ve let a lot of stuff slide with having pre-teen boys…they destroy EVERYTHING. Now that they are starting to get a bit less destructive…I think we can repaint, do hardwood floors, and start to look at renovating some rooms.

I’ll hire people though. Because I’m terrible at building and installing things.

This one is 85 cm (33,5"), right in the middle of the recommended 83-87cm range.

We sit on the toilet, over here…
Actually, the bathroom had a floating vanity (didn’t know what they are called in english) before this, so the wall is reinforced to take it, and the furniture itself has really beefy steel attachment points.

Good catch. The curvy part you see is just the really thin silicon skin. Will remove it once completely cured.

That’s why we waited with fixing the bathroom too. Although I imagine that pre-teen girls are easier on furniture, they do some damage. Guess how that sink got its crack in the first place.
