Mhh two completely different beasts. I love the tall mountain ranges of northern Iraq but overall I think I do prefer the cold war Germany Map. It’s green and there’s something to be said about flying an F-4 over your home country

Well, not completely flat…. but not mountainous. I’m thinking it will be a great map for helicopter operations. Sneaking around below the treetops would be a blast in the Apache, Kiowa and Gazelle….

So what’s the plan for tomorrow. Do a freeflight mission, explore Germany and just goof around or do something more planned out? I can provide a map with dynamic spawns, some tankers and an awacs but nothing else yet.
Get us a motor rifle regiment running up to fulda in there too, preferably with a respawn button…
If somebody is making a freeflight, can the Flaming Cliffs planes be added? As well as the black shark 2?

It’s got dynamic spawns, you can choose to fly whatever you want
If I find the time I will do something but I’m not sure that I can get around to mission editing before we start.

whaddaya know, I got a few soviet tanks to shoot at around Goslar, on the northern edge of the Harz mountains. They come with optional SHORADS if desired. I think it’s one of the most beautiful areas of the map.
We’ve got typical German April weather. Clouds, Rain and Sunshine. Mission starts in mid-April 1987, early morning about 40min before sunrise. There are dynamic spawns for both BLUE and RED coalition forces…

I can stream on Youtube, the impact of OBS is barely noticeable. The discord codec sucks donkey balls and costs about 10fps even on my monster of a system so I prefer to do it this way.

I just spent an hour flying around Berlin in the Gazelle. The amount of detail in this map is quite astounding. I had to dial back some of the graphics settings, but I have it running smoothly in VR. Of course, that is without any AI units deployed.
JfC. I just got some authentication errors when logging in, so I clicked repair on the thing. Turned out it had the dedicated server selected. That install has its mods (where terrains live) folder symlinked to the main install. Of course it found 750gb worth of “superfluous” files and ate them.
So now I’m running a repair on the main install and that’s sucking down… 750gb worth of aircraft. Yay.

I remember when a 10Mb update to iEN’s Warbirds would take all night on my dialup connection. Those were the days! My phone bill was a large chunk of my salary back then!

bloody typical …my long weekend off a flight planned and i have been sleeping most of the day with a temp 37.9 c… and coughing my lungs up, was hoping paracetamol would get me in the air … but the headset would just agrivate the headache 
then to add to my bad mood @Derbysieger @Clutch go and stream some kiowa and apache stuff

Please do. I had some trouble with my install so ran a full repair. But I had my server selected, not the main install. The server has its mods folder symlinked from the main install. So the repair thinger decided to nuke all of the files in the mods folder it doesn’t deem neccesary for the server.
And now I’m repairing the main install. And yea. That’s the whole thing.
I am very very sorry.
