Had to look that one up. And yes exactly, which is why you don’t charge you full development costs for a single unit, rather you can decide your worst case and price accordingly. Or your price what you think is a price the consumer will pay, and hope you sell enough. Either way you can fail to make enough money.
Stated that way it makes sense. I’d still rather see two planes with two prices instead of requiring one for the other. HB seems to see it differently. The (U) is an upscale upgrade to the A/B.
I see it similarly, if I can finally get TIR working, I’d be interested in the B(U), the A and B not so much though. I understand that there probably would be no B(U) without the former two, but I’ll probably sit it out until it’s on offer.
I don’t disagree that legally we are renting software, not “owning” it, but history has taught me that if I continue to possess the data I paid for then there is a fair to good chance that once the company that originally leased it to me loses interest/goes out of business then it will become usable again thanks to community efforts.
I can point to many games, but Falcon4 and Hawken are good examples from different eras.
I suppose they can push a Steam update that wipes all the data when they finally give up, but that’s what backups are for (and there’s ways to get old versions of software from the Steam CDN at the moment anyway) ![]()
You are making my wallet itch ![]()

Tricker couldn’t have said it better. That gun effect on the reticle is perfect. Hope that FFB telemetry vibrates as well.
Wait we’re getting a gun/HUD camera for the B(U) too?
Yep with some lovely vibration effects when you let go with the gun
with the B(u) coming i thought i would reacquaint myself with the B … now I know jester is good but managing to lock up a grisha in A/A mode is impressive
Pulse mode, right? Big chunk of metal echoes an RF pulse, speed is not a factor without Doppler filters.. ![]()
