If you like flying the Loach, it doesn’t get much better than the Into the Jungle sandbox.

@maico and I returning from a double CSAR mission, delivering some very thirsty downed pilots to a busy MASH hospital. He did most of the killing while I did most of the rescuing.

He exagerates, I did most of the dying, while he did all the heavy lifting. It was a very good time.
Thank you for hosting. This was a very impressive mission. There is so much to do and discover.
Thank You Dan!

FYI, even after rebuilding the server from the ground up and leaving out all but the necessary mods, I wasn’t able to determine what is causing the problems with the elevation mesh at Antonio. The following aircraft are affected at Antonio spawn: F-4E non alert a/c (alert jets are fine), OH-6A a/c, UH-1H a/c. OV-10 a/c are good to go. The OH-6A spawn and are dropped hard on the ramp causing a rotor blade to break off. The UH-1H aircraft are inverted, and the non alert F-4E a/c have their main gear collapsed, as if they were dropped hard on the ramp. TBH, it doesn’t affect OH-6A ops much, because you mostly want to spawn near the battle. Phantom and UH-1H ops are affected if you must have a C&D aircraft at Antonio. Still, would like to know why/how my environment is different from others.

The I2J team is soon to release a new version with the AC-130 Spooky mod, so hopefully with a new mission build, my ded server issues will be solved.

Yeeha, fixed the broken props at spawn issue. There was a script that needed to be running on the server. We are good to go.

Great News !

Does anyone want to get together Saturday afternoon/evening and fly? @Maico and I had so much fun flying the Into the Jungle mission (Vietnam sandbox), that I’d recommend that. Last night I was doing a CSAR in the Loach by myself and got shot to hell trying to pickup the pilot. I could have really used a gunship or an OV-10 with rockets to keep Charlie more respectful. Good example of I2J CAS here.

I’d love to join! Been a while since I’ve flown but this sounds like it’s right up my alley!

I’m available in this time range:
2025-03-29T19:00:00Z2025-03-29T23:00:00Z but no later! We’re changing to CEST this weekend and I have an early appointment the next morning

I have basic helicopter proficiency, would love to fly the Loach and am happy to wear the A-4 if more firepower is needed. I’m used to the European spinning rotors but I’m sure I can get used to pushing the other pedal in a few minutes.

Could you pick a time when you’re available and post it via the :spiral_calendar: icon on top of the comment editing window?

I’ll be on the same time Freak. I updated the original post with those details. Will be great to have you on. Server info is a couple of posts from the top.

NOTE: Change from the first meeting… Everyone Must Have the C-130 Mod.

I’ll be there!

I’m just downloading all the mods and I see this on the Bronco page:

EDIT: We are aware of the gear problem due to the Multi threading version, sorry for that.

Have you been using the multi-threaded version? Is it OK if I use the multi-threaded DCS client while flying other aircraft on the server? I assume this only impacts the client itself

I’m using the multi-threaded client. I’m not sure how it affects the Bronco, but will give it a test today,

No need, if you’ve been using multithreaded I’ll stick with it too. I’m happy with just the Loach and A-4

Just fyi, the current DCS version is already multi-threaded only, iirc the bin-mt folder only still exists so it doesn’t break shortcuts for users but afaik you can expect it to disappear in a future update.

That makes sense, I was kind of surprised to still see the folder there after the update.

Just caught up on a year of DCS VR maintenance: downloaded the DCS update, driver update, DLSS swapper, Nvidia Profile Inspector, and all the mods.

Did a quick first flight in the OH-6 (hot start) to make sure my axes are bound correctly, and then a flight in the A-4 to check my previous bindings are still working and that I didn’t plug anything into the wrong USB port.

The performance boost using the latest DLSS version, profile K, is huge on my RTX 3080 10GB with 5800X3D+32GB. I’ve set DLSS to the max performance in DCS settings and it still looks as good as the old balanced setting, but it seems (I did not A/B-test, this is just by feel) I am one step higher in VR framerate than I used to be. 60 fps where it used to be 45, 75 fps where it uses to be 60.

Looking forward to the multiplayer sesh in an hour. I hope I installed all the mods correctly!
