SimBox NG

Question of the decade - are they RGB?

No, I just wanted bright lights on those.
The floor lights, though

:sunglasses:

So, lets do it
!

Got me a bunch of Austrian precision slim fans from Noctua.

You called?

I jodelled
 :speaking_head:
Or
I tried to.

Anyway!

The result:

The temps dropped a few degrees. Almost within ambient room temp variations
There’s probably a larger gain at higher temps, but even under sustained 100% CPU load on all cores, OC @5GHz, it stays around 70°C (160°F).

Looks awesome! How’s the noise from idle to full tilt?

Good question!
I used a decibel app on my phone, so take it for what it’s worth. About 32db on idle and 34 on full.

And, I was wrong earlier. Max temp is actually around 60°C (140°F).

Damn that’s quiet.
60°C under load
all good!

What did you use to load the CPU? I have used Prime95 when I want to test CPU or RAM.

The CPUID app has a stress CPU
Makes all cores go to 100%. All I know.
I haven’t done any scientific studies like logging temps over time, or anything.

You’re in Norway. Just open a window.

You tryin’ to kill me?

Well, if MudSpike ever needs a datacenter

Made another improvement today.
The scissor link arms can be difficult to handle, when closing the sidewall. The over center ”knee” must be opened and the wall moved closer so the arms won’t extend again.
And the arms have a slight play in the extended position.
So I mounted springs that locks the arms when extended and helps folding the arms when closing!
Pretty clever, huh?

All you need is some machinery to start mass producing!

so is it just me, or, with all these improvements, is anybody else out there thinking that we are wittnessing the actual “Rise of the Machines”? Should we be worried? :open_mouth:

Should we?
@Discobot fortune

:crystal_ball: Yes definitely

Well
sh*t! :frowning:

I did laugh out so loud at that

just found this
could this be the next version
