Itās attracting big money right now, itās like a gold rush, everybody and their grandma wants in on it. It used to be an academic discipline but right now it is an arms race, which means thereās no time for āis this really a good ideaā type of questions.

Without having read the petition, in general I think the most imminent issue with āAIā currently is that of social destabilization. It is a tool of massive wealth redistribution in a time where wealth is already distributed quite unevenly. Allowed to simply continue without some kind of regulative, we will soon face a degree of concentration of wealth that could very quickly lead to civil unrest. Under no circumstances can private companies be allowed to destabilize society, I dare say that even Hayek would agree to that.
And it is also because of wealth distribution that big AI is going to be taxed heavily. I donāt really object that, but only if small players are not regulated to death.
I agree and Iād say this argument should have been rolled out like the 1st armored div. back when youtube and facebook algorithms turned out to beā¦ impactful and destabilising.
