U.S. Army FARA - Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft

How about someone make these in DCS and we conduct our own Mudspike fly-off. We can at least determine which one is least likely to cause new-pilot accidents for them!

I love that idea, if only one could whip em up for DCS like people used to do for Strike Fighters…

I’m not. The maintenance cost and nightmares… shudders

Without reading into it, I must say I like the Bell design more.
Not 100% on the wings though, but again - that’s from an aesthetics standpoint.

Those obviously are not an object to the pentagon if the V-22, F-35, B-2 and F-22 are showing

I am sick of ugly hardware. Go Bell!

It was easier to throw unbuilt planes into Strike Fighters, but helos not so much.

Guess the Cheyenne lost again! The Raider X is broadly similar, but not like Boeing’s was.

Didnt you get the memo? Attack helicopters are supposed to be heart stoppingly ugly. The US army has had an ugly gap with the Russians for years as they flew the hind unchallenged all that time! Apache and cobra are not nearly ugly enough to compete.

A Dr. Strangelove reference … very nice!

The difference is those all belong to the USAF, with two shared between the USMC and USN. Army Aviation doesn’t have that kind of cash, or they’d have gotten the RAH-66 to begin with.
