That made me chuckle more than it probably should.
I want to design a mascot or something to go on that wide side…
The bomb with the eyes I made or the regular logo? If you have any idea let me know, I finalize it and I can prepare a file that any print shop can make a sticker out of.
Little fella is 7 today. He’s fully nerf armed and waiting for his party. The windscreen wipers are inop so we will have to take the hilux to the party
Happy birthday, Obi!
Congrats to the little man! Nerf guns are such fun. I bought myself a six shooter revolver and it’s my favourite toy to shoot the kids with
They get to shoot back with a 12-shot revolver and a magazine fed rifle looking thing. Youngest one just walks through the hits like its nothing, just wants to get her licks in but the oldest one is terrified of taking a hit. How is Obi under fire?
He has got better. I’m a big believer in repeated hits to harden them up. His sister is invincible
@Victork2 Happy birthday to Obi!! I hope he gets to shoot nerf darts from the driving Humvee at some point. Tell him he looks menacing with that bipod from the rear!
@schurem I did the same with my younger brothers and the kids in the street. Same gun, from the sounds of it. Loved it, having a smaller clip and no semi-auto means you need to make your shots count. It felt more consistent in aim than some of the fancier full-auto guns with electric motors that my brothers had.
Happy Birhday Obi, I hope you had fun at the party.
@Freak Those nerf pistols are easily modded. In mine the ‘air restrictors’ were the first to go, followed by a stronger spring - easily doubled the range.
Next step was to mod the ‘darts’ by filling up underneath the cap with a resin that set rock hard.
Gave them a little extra sting. ![]()
Nerf wars were a feature of one of the office places I worked at… Up until the day that the Chief of Army and our Director walked in on one…
We have been googling this today lol
Careful, without the air restrictors they can actually hit pretty hard- my family once had a little scare after a little one got shot in the eye. Eyepro became the rule of the day after that, which sadly defeats the spontaneity of a nerf ambush.
Now that’s just cruel ![]()
This is normally where I would say " 'MURICA! ", but… I don’t know the Aussie version. Is there one?
VEGAMITE ? I don’t know, seems appropriate though.
I was going to say, yeah probably not a good idea for the kiddies, but adults… Ah, who am I fooling ![]()
Following is an excerpt from “The last battle for the 5th Floor”
The opposing armies faced each other across the no-mans-land of the elevator foyer. We had received advanced warming of a raid on our morning tea by [redacted] Section and were waiting in ambush.
Who would blink first? Suddenly I head the chunk, chunk, chunk of a belt fed nerf opening up and the whiir of flywheels spinning up in battery powered guns - a sound that chills me to this day. Over the general mayhem; punctuated by the cries of “I’m hit” and “Medic” nobody heard the ding of the arriving elevator.
Stepping into a maelstrom of nerf darts and grenades was our Director (2 Star Major General) accompanied by the Chief of Army who was paying a surprise visit in order to thank us on our professionalism and hard work during a recent crisis…
Our Director did not see the funny side, but CA was observed departing with a wry smile on his face.
From that day forth, Nerf products were banned from the building.
Usually reserved for football crowds and drunk bogans but a chant of “Aussie, Aussie, Aussie” would be the closest. ![]()
“Queenslands weird, Queenslands Weird!”
You’ve been there, obviously… ![]()
It just keeps getting weirder and weirder the further North you go.
I’m not sure that’s true, otherwise Tasmanians would be the most normal of all ![]()
