400-600, that is probably Cold Cranking Amps which is different to Ah (Ace could explain it better than me). But yeah, modern battery storage is insane. I have one of these. Charges from a USB port and will jump start my Diesel 4x4 no problem… 1000 A ![]()
I have a NOCO gb50 and its witchcraft. Absolute witchcraft.
Jump Start anything with it. Up to 10 times on a charge. Then charge it back up on usb in just over 2 hours. Savage things. Id be lost without it. But they definitely do not do the battery much good. Its a boost. Not a charge. And its a BIG boost
That trailer is a must-have IMHO. Would you have space for it though?
I threw one in my truck last year, when the GOOLOO 4000A went on sale for 50% off at $98. I haven’t used it to start anything, but it charges phones and runs the kids electronics if we are somewhere without power. Sort of like a small portable generator. Comes with a nice carrying case and cables to wire up a variety of devices.
Condolences for the loss.
Congrats on the project! And look at that big sexy super duty in the driveway next to it! My man! ![]()
Precious memories. Man…
Just caught up now with the whole progress. Mighty impressed.
Looks much better than I initially feared when you started talking about it.
I’m very very happy for you @Victork2 !
That war tractor sure looks cool!
In todays installment of “Ew Gross whats that squishy thing i can feel but not see”
I have drained and refilled the rear portal hubs. Absolutely disgusting in one of them.
But thats done for now. Possible weeping hub seal but ill let that develop for a bit. Could be just wet.
Nice and clean now.
My start box is in the uk but customs are hording it for now. That will probably arrive next week id imagine.
Fitted all the seat pans and back rests for the rear compartment today. Found a terrible horrible squishy thing underneath the floor that i was very concerned might be alive…turned out to be a Motorola walkie talkie thank christ ![]()
Cleaned out over a kilo. Nearly 2. Of bloody sand! And fitted the near side seat pan and back rest. Not going to put the cushions on till the summer or they will be wrecked by then. Water ingress is a huge issue.
Found a weird pokey thing, a headlight bulb holder for a car and a ■■■■ load of acorns and sand.
Fitted 2 new wheels as well which are about 50 kilos (maybe) lighter it feels so i can only assume that the run flat bands inside are not present. So ive put them both on the back. I’m going to take them out of the front as well as they seem to weigh a ton, ive got a spare wheel now, there is a low probability of getting a tyre shot out in oxford (non zero though) and it will be easier on the transmission and the ride I’d imagine. Its recommended not to take them out. But I’m going to live dangerously for the benefits
Keep thinking you have ejector seats fitted
Sorry for the dark pics.
Its…as close to watertight as i can make it.
It also looks seriously menacing on my driveway like this. I’m fairly sure im missing a brace somewhere but i can probably make something.
I really love my hmmwv. Its fun building it all up. I’m having a blast.
It’s basically a tent that does 60mph ![]()
Not quite sure what your lovely wife is alluding to… But I can guess ![]()
I said it looks like its pleased to see her…
Is that an exhaust pipe in your pocket, or… ![]()
Is that a deep water fording kit in your smock…
You cant knock izuzu for unburstable vehicles. Wow!
They show that video on our off-road drivers course as an example of what NOT to do.
Not checking water depth first, etc. But If you drive through water that is above your hubs then the truck is likely to be out of action in the workshop for a while. Those diff breathers would have just sucked in a shedload of water.
