I need a swift review … I may have been a bit reckless with the buy now button on the winwing site… a second mfd and an orion2 with with the standard f15 grip plus finger lifts are hopefully in packing getting ready to ship to the uk :grinning:

How is this for swift? Ok, if the beauty of the (subtle) wrinkled metal surface does not get you, The coldness of the black as night steel will. The buttons are super clicky and feel like money. But if that is not enough for you… Just you wait till it vibrates in your hands while you take off. The value of Winwing is unquestionable… The fact that they are making products with great quality defies logic.
PRO TIP. Stuff the sliders for the throttles with paper towel before installing the throttle detent. Why? Because dropping a screw in there will make for a bad day. Trust me on this one.

There is a preview of the Virpil Apache collective grip at Helisimmer:

I have pre-ordered it (with the counter balance thingy), I just can’t resist. I like helicopters (have since childhood) and this thing is just … you know how when you where younger in the Falcon4 days and you wish you had a panel for some of the switches, maybe even a replicate cockpit, and then you get older and have some disposable cash and can’t resist every shiny new thing that your younger self would have been drooling over?

Yeah, that.

And I’m not even sure I am going to use it - that’s a ton of buttons to learn for this limited capacity brain

Nice. think I need a stick…cyclic…that works more like a real one first. While flying the choppers is on my list its a distant 3rd. When my Thing gets to the point of adding attack choppers I’m going to look harder at this. “Two weeks”.

Looks like winwing might have something more coming for viper pilots

Oh! An ICP (I think it is called)? The central top panel? That would be tempting. Been considering the Hornet one that WinWing has.

OK, I just took delivery of my WinWing F-15EX throttle handles. Nice bit of kit. Can’t for the life of me get the motors to work with DCS. They work in the SimAppPro thingamibob. I can turn them on in the test screen, but if I leave them above zero there, they just keep buzzing as long as there’s power on the box. That’s not right! I was expecting them to give pulses when things happen like bomb drops or gear extension…

That’s just preconditioning you for the Phantom’s twin GE J79s!

The slider is for testing only, it doesn’t actually control anything. Vibration, when it works, only requires you to keep the program open or minimized when launching DCS. There are reports of problems with scripting that may require a purge of the associated files, but it works out of the box for me so far.

mine should be arriving tomorrow
