VR and Older Games - Partial Success

Have you seen anything regarding SF2 and vorpx, couldn’t really find anything promising?

I did see a post from user Stary on the CombatAce forums where he said he got something working:

I bought vorpX, mainly to run Codemasters F1 Games in VR. To be honest, it does work, but it is nowhere near a native VR game.
I never really played the games with it, although that might have other reasons when looking at the CM F1 series…

So from my POV it was kind of a waste of money.

Tried nothing else with it though…

Yeah…that does seem to be a theme among those that have bought it. I mean, there are some that like it, but I read a lot who think it wasn’t worth it. I think this is one of those things that if I do decide to buy it, I’m definitely going into it with eyes wide open that it might not be great…

The main thing is, yes you can play a lot of older games in VR. That sounds cool. But To be honest, why do you want to in the first place?

SF2 was good back in the days, I have splendid memories playing it.

You might manage to get it up running in the headset, maybe even in 3d. But in the end, the result will not life up to the nostalgic memories we have.
It is the same with old dos games. Gosh I enjoyed Tornado back in the days. But if I play it today it is just not the same anymore…

I have those nostalgia flashes once a while and start installing all that old stuff, just Janes F15 recently, because I found a new compatibility pack. Yes it’s cool, but modern games are just cooler

But hey I know exactly how you feel about vorpX

Alright. Curiosity is killing me, so I’m gonna buy it. I’ll write a review on it and see if I get sued.
