I’m sure it will be as easy to build as an Ikea product…
Let’s not go too far. Nothing is as hard as assembling Ikea stuff. Maybe someday @Troll will explain to us why Scandinavia never adopted a writing system for their languages.
A picture is worth a thousand words. Duh!
They did. It is written in runes.
The picture Denny’s menus would be a huge hit over there…just point and grunt…!
Yep
I am sure it will, especially the part ‘throw it into the bin’!
The number of trips to the landfill, recycling plant and landscaping supplies depots I’ll be doing in the next 12 months justified a new toy:
Nice tipper!!!
Word of caution, load it as centrally over the axle as possible. You learn this the hard way otherwise. To far forward and you need to be the hulk to lift the bed, too far back and the instant you pull the pin (which will be super tight) it will launch you into lower orbit and probably dislocate your shoulder.
How much can that carry out of interest?
@Victork2 Good tips, thanks!
It’s rated to 750kg - same as the unbraked max recommendation for the Volvo. I got the 7 x 5 version, the 8 x 5 version is rated to 1000kg but I’m not intending to push those limits.
It’s a pretty cheap one - I did a bit of research and this one felt like the right compromise. You have really cheap ones out of quite thin metal and no parts warranty and on the other hand very expensive fully locally made ones with 10 year warranties and marine grade wheel hubs and so forth…this is sort of middle of the pack, Chinese parts but locally assembled by a small business who have been selling these for 10 years as their primary product, so should be good for my light duty use. 24 mth parts warranty.
Should be good, pretty excited about being able to load it with green waste at my leisure and take it to the transfer station once it’s nice and full with no timeframe to return it by 6pm or whatever.
Super nice! I’m in the market for a little 4x6 aluminum high side trailer. If you don’t have one…I’d recommend a locking receiver pin of some sort…just to make it a smidge harder to steal…
Yeah I’m a bit nervous about thieves so gonna do that and get third party and theft insurance too.
Please be aware (this might be a uniquely UK problem) that in my experience, insurance rarely if ever pay out for trailers. Due to the fact that serial plates can easily be removed and swapped. Chassis numbers can be erased and changed in seconds and they say that you can make a trailer “disappear” yourself in less than a minute.
You are better off buying 2 chains and a ground anchor than insuring it for theft. Make it take more than a minute to steal and thieves won’t bother
I’ll find out - I just ordered this:
Also I need to check my home & contents policy and car insurance - a general NZ guide said that some car insurance policies cover the trailer for damage when it’s attached to the car.
If the trailer is covered by contents insurance when it’s on my property (for theft) and by vehicle insurance (for damage / third party) when driven, I might not need a separate insurance.
Great fun to use on cheating ex’s, too!
My everyday car is a SAAB 9-5 vector estate of 2006, 220k kilometers so still a couple of 100k’s to go.
A few days ago I came across this convertible of 1998, in very good shape with a new hood and reasonably priced, so I couldn’t resist. Not the right season atm, but it’s fun to drive.
Saabs go forever!
Well, they did…
The car brand did, the cars still do
So I bought this… Because like gas cost 44 cents a liter here. And who needs Polar bears anyway. Its a 3.5 X drive. For you who don’t speak BMW, Its not a 3.5 liter… its a 3.0 twin turbo. Power is rated at 330 hp. It goes, its got Eco mode(because the Polar Bears give me guilt trips), comfort, Sport and Sport Plus for when I dont care about the environment one bit. We don’t recycle here so… how can I feel bad?
