@Sargoth, that’s a smokin’ SSD drive!
I stand corrected. Just saw @BeachAV8R 's Samsung 850 EVO score.

I’m not sure why that is such a high score. I didn’t think that Samsung EVO was anything unusual…just picked it up on a whim when it was on sale a couple years back.
Yeah, the pc is getting real expensive. But I mitigate that with time. I first bought the motherboard, cpu and some cheap rams and gpu in 2013. Then bought the SSD and Hitachi 3Tb drive the next year. Bought a new case for it; Fractal Design Define R4 and a new monitor in 2015. And early this year I bought RAM upgrade, and with the latest being a new GPU.
Next step is getting new processor and motherboard, with ddr4 memory. Then its a new SSD 500Gb and M.2 SSD 1Tb (thats gonna be expensive).
Samsung is the leading producer of SSD’s. Quality products! If your thinking of buying, go with samsung.
I agree. I also have a Samsung and I am pretty happy with it.
Love my Samsung ssd

Nice! Maybe wait with a new gpu until AMD has the Polaris architecture a bit firmer in its grip. There are speculations that they are holding off for a new card in that series for next year
Yep, looking to upgrade video card in February next year. Hopefully AMD 490 is good, otherwise will most likely aim for a 1080 GTX.
I will be not so sure
Here you go… ( and SSD only from Kingston, I mean anything memory wise only from Kingston )

I’ve finally given up on the poor AMD R9 290 and waiting for ASW driver updates and pukey VR fps and picked up a 1070 for home use.
My criteria was fairly odd:
It comes with Watchdogs 2, so Offspring #2 gets an additional Santa gift, as that was on his list. It’s paying for itself already!
EDIT: Oops, wrong thread - moving.

LOL. My Alienware Alpha classified as a “Surfboard”.
An update is in order since I have replaced my cheap 8GB of RAM with 16GB of 2400 MHz overclocked RAM, and finally overclocked my -K CPU:
Old score, recalculated:
UserBenchmarks: Game 71%, Desk 78%, Work 46%
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K - 81.3%
GPU: AMD R9 290X - 74.1%

Weird that my GPU performance has degrades so much (EDIT: was comparing old percentile scores from back when everyone had shittier GPUs to todays percentile scores, which compare my R9 290X to all the GTX10xx cards out there these days)
UserBenchmarks: Game 77%, Desk 85%, Work 57%
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K - 90.1%
GPU: AMD R9 290X - 77.1%
SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 250GB - 103.4%
HDD: WD Green 1TB (2011) - 70.2%
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 2400 C11 2x8GB - 88.8%

Well, that is a percentile, as the userbase keeps getting better hardware, so will your percentile get lower if you don’t move with the userbase.
Makes sense, I thought that was the percentile compared to other R9 290X’s
You will have to downgrade your graphics card.
Meanwhile I have a new rig:
